To all, and BookChick:

Sox hitting was missing tonight, but our guys hung on dearly for a 2-1 win! Now they go to Denver up 2-0! My lucky youngest grandson and his dad got tix and are leaving for Denver tomorrow. The kid is going to make a sign when they get to Denver..RED SOX NATION
CALIFORNIA
He'll be sitting 7 rows behind first base.
Keep it going Sox!

Hitting or not, I take credit for the win. They were the center, at my urging.

Also, Stu T, I will look for your grandson's sign during the broadcast of the next game. Go Sox!

Bookchick:

With two wins and on a roll heading to Denver, I benevolently offer you total credit for last night's squeaker! Keep on rolling sox! What part of Red Sox Nation are you from, Book Chick?

I live in Plymouth, Michigan. After my beloved Tigers were eliminated, I decided to root for their worthiest opponents, so that would be the RS. Also I am very impressed with the Boston/Cambridge/Needham/Franklin folks I've met at the Boston GTG where I was an invited and very welcomed guest. And I travel out to Boston to see a doctor regularly for a medical condition, and feel this doc is the top in his field.

GO SOX!

I am pleased to read that the higher path is being sought by RS Nation. We are seeking to become won with the universe.

Nice to know that Red Sox Nation has reached Plymouth, Michigan...also numerous out here in California, but I'm a Quincy, Mass.native.

The higher plane does not include the counting of chickens prematurely. A slight smile for our good fortune and making merit is today's plan.

DonTopaz Oct 28th, 2007 03:57 AM

It is inappropriate, then, to wish the honorable opponents well in their next life?

tower Oct 28th, 2007 12:38 PM

Three down, ONE to go...Sox will wrap it up today..no later than tomrrow...the "new Yankee's" have arrived, and the dynasty begins.

Tower, as a die hard Yankee fan, I am flattered by your "dynasty" reference - don't get too cocky though - even the Yankees can have off years - the tables can turn the other way very quickly...

bookchick Oct 28th, 2007 03:03 PM

Rizzuto, it is never inappropriate to wish someone well, as long as you are sincere. Karma will come around to do a Karmic turn over those who are openly hostile or try to bait their opponents. Seeing your place centered is the way to win in all endeavors.

With sincere wishes of wellness to all,
BC in Plymouth Red Sox Nation

One should wish one's honorable opponents well in this life. Dignity and humility during the valiant struggle. We are seeking a positive Kharmic result.

We do not aspire to be the new Yankees. We hope for continued existence as the beloved Red Sox. Why would we seek a lower plane?

mrwunrfl Oct 28th, 2007 04:02 PM

Dignity, humility, Red Sox fan.
One of those doesn't really go with the other two.

mrwunrfl Oct 28th, 2007 09:08 PM

Congrats to you Red Sox fans. Too bad the season is over, tho.

Gpanda Oct 29th, 2007 02:23 AM

Thanks to all who answered this plea with their hearts. The higher plane is the path.

Now that the RS have prevailed, I can thankfully abandon this "all for the greater good" posture and return to the petty, spiteful personna of gpanda. One thing I've learned about the higher plane is that it's not particularly funny. The higher plane is plain. Ridicule and scorn are my best attributes. Who says you can't go home again.

Craig Oct 29th, 2007 02:34 AM

Congratulations on a fine season which has for now put to bed the "Manilla Folders" moniker.

Yankee fans can look forward to battling the RS next year sans A-Rod who has opted out of his contract, a much younger pitching staff and a new manager, most likely Joe Girardi.

tower Oct 29th, 2007 09:21 AM

congratulations to Red Sox Nation, all over the world...two sweeps in three years...now we can say wait'll next year and really look forward to it.

My 12 year old grandson ended up with a foul ball caught by his dad who had to wrestle it away from two others. The grandson got it signed by Lowell long after the game was over and all the Sox were back on the field after the champagne What a great weekend for the kid..he'll be heading back to California today.

Can you imagine that Bobby Doerr, age 90, called in to wish the Sox luck before the game on Saturday. He still lives in Oregon..what memories I conjured up after that.

even here in romania they are saying what bums the RS are!!

hawaiiantraveler Oct 29th, 2007 10:47 AM

All hail the victors! Congrats to the RS fans worldwide.

When you all do finally come off of cloud nine you will realize you need to put the dynasty thing on hold.....2 championships in 90 years does not even come close to dynasty qualifications.

Aloha!
