aloha..i will have a rental car...is it easy enough to drive to the gtg???
we would love to start off at longhis (same owner as maui's longhi's??) count us in at 5pm |
kai, i believe the maile skycourt is located on hobron lane. is that correct? if so, you are only a few minutes from seoul garden. but since you will join us at longhis, just meet us there, and we can all go together to sg.
longhis at ala moana is own by the same bob that started on maui. btw, longhis is located next to sears on the upper level, next door to morton's steakhouse. see you and makamae there. |

>) |
deal, melissa....
anything else we should bring? what happened last gtg??? just good conversation and food ??? |
We had a "souvenir show and tell" table at the last BOS GTG, but I think we will forego that this next time. Conversation and eating, maybe sharing photos... I have pictures of some of the infamous fodorites we all know so well here... I also have a lot of hotel and apartment picture so smaybe I should be carrying my laptop with me! I was going to leave it at home this time... but if anyone is interested in photos of hotels and such, I'll carry it along. Should I bring it??? It is a very small sized one.
Other than that, I'm bringing myself and hopefully a bottle of red wine from my rack at home. It's on my list of things to pack. Carol |
At the last (big) Honolulu GTG, there were many bottles of libations, lots of charming conversation, trash talk, and all that good stuff. Every GTG I've been to in every city has been different!
By the way, is everyone attending this GTG comfortable with having their photos taken? (Please keep your clothes on this time.) >:-) p.s. kuranosuke, does SG serve those black noodles made famous by the Korean soap operas? |
melissa, are you a korean drama junkie? i don't watch the kd so i'm not sure what kind of noodle you are talking about. but suspect it might be the squid blank ink noodles, right? if so, then every korean/italian restaurant worth it salt would have it.
i'm a meat and rice guy, so i never looked for it on the menu, but they might have it. i know they have tongue, and they might even have goat. hhhmmmm, getting hungry now. :-) 50 more days. |
that shold be black.
|
nooo not me! I tried watching ONE once, and my life revolved around it until the drama ended. It was the craziest addiction ever, so I do not venture back to channel 4.
However.....all the K-Drama junkies I know get a rush from eating these black noodles like the TV shows. I think it's regular noodles with black beans, not sure. :) |
Hi there, I asked my Korean assistant and he says that SG does not serve the black noodles. He says:
they are regular noodles with black bean sauce on it like spaghetti, but it doesn't taste like beans. It has different meats and vegetables in it. It originated at the borders between China and Korea. It's Korean Chinese food. You can't find them at regular Chinese restaurants but will find them at Korean Chinese restaurants. It's called "Cha Jang Miun." |
