rizzuto~ I loved the photos from your trip. Today I must be very sensitive, because they brought tears to my eyes (*typo: I first typed ears, because I was thinking of the dog's big ears.....)
I am going to give it a shot and come out to Boston from Denver. Invited a friend from DC if she can come....

Bookchick~I just like your name. I want to go back to school, and just read. Get lost in the books.

Gpanda Aug 24th, 2008 09:07 AM

Gypseymaiden-sounds great. The more the merrier. If you're here on Friday and think you can tolerate us repeatedly, we're orhanizing a Fri. night dinner at a place to be named later.

GypsyMaiden Aug 24th, 2008 11:21 AM

friend from DC is going to FL...so I am solo. Staying in Boston, as long as I get a confirmation email within 24 hrs.

GypsyMaiden Aug 24th, 2008 11:22 AM

Oh and gpa, yes, I'll be there on Friday.

Gpanda Aug 24th, 2008 11:55 AM

Great. If you check the previous thread, you'll see some of the accomodation options.

Let's see what we can do about getting a visa for Dogster.

DonTopaz Aug 24th, 2008 12:49 PM

Thanks, GyppedMaiden. Were you peeling onions at the time?

See you in Cambridge. It is, after all, the Cambridge GTG, the topic title notwithstanding.

rhkkmk Aug 24th, 2008 02:25 PM

gypsy...send me an e mail at [email protected] and tell me your name and a contact e address so i can put you on the mailing list and make your GTG res for you..

bob

GypsyMaiden Aug 24th, 2008 02:40 PM

Bob~did it this morning, and have my confirmation for my sleeping arrangements. :) I am in like flynn this year!! Yahoo! This will be fun!~

Gpanda Aug 24th, 2008 03:04 PM

Rizzutto-FYI-in an effort to expand the GTG, we are actually considering having Fri. dinner in some place other than Cambridge. Unlikely, but it could happen.

Any good places in Billerica?

Gpanda Aug 24th, 2008 03:31 PM

If the guests are not careful, bob and I will organize a Friday night of candlepin bowling and pizza. Show off the real Boston. There's a few classic spots in Dorchester.

simpsonc510 Aug 24th, 2008 04:04 PM

Bowling and pizza! Sounds like a winner..... (smile)

Gypsy, some of us are staying at a nice Hyatt Summerfield Suites in Burlington MA. We will have a few cars, so pooling not a problem.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Carol (no e)(in Bangkok)

rhkkmk Aug 24th, 2008 07:13 PM

reservations are starting to roll in so let us hear from you soon.....

of course some of the locals have not responded----how do you say GPANDA??? some people think they are above the law...

GypsyMaiden Aug 24th, 2008 07:52 PM

the pressure builds for the locals...

simpsonc510 Aug 25th, 2008 12:07 AM

So, will we be the usual 30 or so? Or maybe more this time?

rhkkmk Aug 25th, 2008 06:09 AM

we think the number may be around 30 again, but as i say the locals have been slow to respond....no problem with people from afar....they speak right up but its those locals that have been shy....especially the europe board people, who have now made a joke out of our GTG.....go figure----we know their history

Gpanda Aug 25th, 2008 06:42 AM

The GTG is not sufficiently nasty for the Europe posters. There are no ad hominum or ad feminum attacks.

Craig Aug 25th, 2008 06:51 AM

Bob, I liked your comment "this is why asia board members come back shaking their heads after visiting here on the europe board..."

I don't suppose it would do any good to start another thread - it would probably just fill up with more inane replies.

Gpanda Aug 25th, 2008 06:59 AM

Craig-inane replies are the lifeblood of this forum.

rhkkmk Aug 25th, 2008 09:31 AM

even some inane people....think AO, Spygirl, gpanda, and a few others..

GypsyMaiden Sep 1st, 2008 09:08 AM

This is going to be fun!
