This New Yorker who roots for the Mets (but NEVER the Yankees) is attending so those of you who don't like it, deal with it.
|
I grew up rooting for the Mets when the Yanks weren't in it but we'll likely (hopefully?) see both go the distance. I am also sympathetic to the Cubs - enjoyed seeing them play SF at Wrigley over Labor Day weekend last year.

Hi Carol!
I won't be able to come to the Boston GTG, 'coz I'll be at the Cubbies' game. |
Hmmmmm....
|
Steve,
Here's hopin' the Cubbies go all the way. But with Soriano out for a while, that might not happen. Drat! Got my fingers crossed in any case. Carol |
Tough break about Soriano, Carol. When I heard the news about an hour ago, I thought about you and the Cubbies.
|
THIS IS NOT A SPORTS CHANNEL OR BAR!!
we welcome everyone....well almost everyone.... |
I'll be there with my traveling buddy Louise. We'll be leaving for SE Asia six weeks later so I'll look forward to your great tips. The GTG before my India trip was invaluable.
Gpanda, Wow, I had no idea about the speedos. Is the show before or after lunch? |
To cut down on food consumption, I will be wearing the speedo during the meals. Bob will be modeling one for dinner.
|
I'm losing my appetite already...
|
Only the strong survive.
Gpandas are a vision of loneliness. |
TTT... just to remind everyone about the GTG this coming Saturday.
|
Iris and I hope that you all have a wonderful time at the GTG.
Sorry we can't make it this year. I'm going to have to smoke all the Cuban cigars I had purchased for the large furry mammal. I have an idea for the evening's entertainment--a cage match between Bob & Andy--loser pays the bar bill!!! PS No speedos allowed. |
Looking forward to it!
Bob, were you able to get us all tickets for the game? First pitch at 8:07, so we'll need to eat fast! :D Cyn |
Rob
Sorry you won't make it this time. We will have to take video of the cage match. Should be very entertaining!! Cyn, although I am a CUB fan, I shall grin and bear it if Bob has tickets for all of us. I think they are about $400 a seat. Bankers are not usually this eager to "part" with their money... lol Carol |
As noted from past GTG's, we'll be very lucky if Bob even pays his portion of the food bill. Ask Brad.
|
Andy,
Brad won't be attending this GTG. We'll all do our best to keep tabs on Bob (and yourself... you and that Speedo...) See you soon. Carol |
Can we get a head count of who's coming this year? Just curious.
|
Could someone post a head count? Also, any chance someone attending wouldn't mind bringing some Fodor's tokens of appreciation to the dinner...I'd like to overnight a little care package for the event tomorrow but I've had trouble pinpointing someone who will be attending to send this box of goodies to....
I wrote to you rhkkmk but realized that you don't live in Boston. Sorry about that oversight. Would anyone like to give me a hand? =) If you're up for the task, please write to me at [email protected] and include your mailing address, preferably one that you're able to sign packages from (business or home). Thanks everybody. I'm sorry that I can't make it this year---sounds like it's going to be quite a time. |
Editor-communicating with Bob at [email protected]. He has an accurate head count. Also, he never leaves his house so he can always receive packages. I can be reached at [email protected] in case Bob spaces out. Thanks. We love being Fodorites.
