Boston GTG 2007 preplan
 

currently looking at saturday Oct 13, 2007 as a potential date for a Boston GTG...

we need at least one person to come from farther away than lcuy so they can win the 29 cent award gift....

as plans progress we (andy and I) will let you know what is happening....

will try for the hotel@ MIT, Cambridge, MA again and a mid-morning start and brunch....

Bob, we'd love to come. It's only a few weeks before we leave for Bangkok so it may be difficult to arrange. We'll keep it in mind.

Too early for me to know. I've just got to get past the L.A. GTG and a few other events/trips first. Happy Travels!

I'm hoping you will still have the wonderful award gift in place for next years GTG as we are hoping to come to Canada/States then - can't think of anyone who lives much further away!

This year time (and cash) won't permit so it will probably be necessary to go back to BKK again - oh well such a drag! Or maybe Bali we'll see.

I held him off 'til now, but spring is in the air and a middle-aged man's mind turns to daydreaming of GTG's. Better than daydreaming of the Red Sox.

I'm going to try to come. I have hired a pet sitter for a short trip to NY in april and a week at the Stratford Festival in August. Hopefully she will work out and I can start traveling again.

looking forward to seeing everyone again and to seeing new folks as well..

I'll look forward to updates -- it would be fun to meet everyone -- my weekend schedule is always a bit chaotic as that's the end of the big fall real estate push but we would love to come.

I will plan on being there, maybe Brad as well. Looking forward to another fun GTG in BOS. Thanks Bob and Andy!

I checked with the boss - Jeane got home early tonight due to the snow storm - we are Good-To-Go for the GTG.

Speedos will be de rigeur. A bit brisk in October, but quite refreshing. We'll be modeling the new fashions.

Wild horses couldn't keep me away. I'll be bringing the video camera. Bob and Andy in speedos. This should be good.

regretfully Muffin and i won't be able to make it. Shame as we would love to. (although the memory of a giant panda in speedos is one i will truly not miss!!!)

So, is the date a certainty on the 13th? I won't buy my plane ticket for quite a while, but I'll put the date on my calendar IN INK if it's a sure thing.

You'll never find me. I have the perfect camoflauge for Cambridge. I'm a proud liberal with clothes from Brooks Brothers and LL Bean, drive a Volvo and read books. We hide from needhamites in the Library.

I will be genuinely surprised if the Red Sox are still playing baseball in mid-October. With tough teams from Toronto and New York, that is a stretch. Best to focus on the Pats at that time of year.

Of course, we are all wondering, Great Giant Panda - do you obtain your speedos from Brooks Brothers or from LL Bean? - and will you be wearing them to this historic event?

Neither BB nor LLB does Lycra. Two suits are actual Speedo brand. Another is from Robinsons Dept Store and a fourth was bought at the Chedi. A speedo for every season.

One for each season - now that's a frightening thought regardless of their origin!

Assuming we survive our current trip to S E Asia.....would you mind bringing an extra Speedo for me?

Unfortunately, I don't have any Speedo's....would like medium size.

I prefer mine to have a tiger pattern on it ;)

There are no sizes. One just squeezes oneself in, no matter what the volume. That's half the fun.

I note that when we were in Phuket at the meridien Beach resort, there was another guest who chose his beachwear with far less concern for decency than I. He was in his 60's, died blond hair and considerable girth. He could have made three of his suits from one of mine.

MaryW-the winter speedo is, of course, fur-lined.

In pulling out the summer clothes (an optimistic chore in early April in Boston) I came across a very small speedo that I haven't seen for a while. Mrs. Panda was hysterical. While it's sized extra large, it seems like an oxymoron.

You'd freeze your tushy off today! It feels like January in Illinois. DH asked when we might expect warm weather and I told him JUNE.

BTW, Brad is back in BKK for four weeks now (I'm sooooo jealous).
