Where Spygirl get the idea that the standard influenza bug kills only 30000 a year or so baffles me - but tabloid sensationalism are nothing new from that quarter. Influenza kills several thousand people a year in the UK alone!

Just 6 years ago we had a mini dose go round and the hospital morgues were so full bodies were being stored in trailers in the car park

It kills about 36,000 people per year in the USA. So I'm sure it's hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

Walter-as usual, you're twisting my words.-I did NOT mean 30,000 people world-wide, but 30,000 in the US-and I was responding to Gloria's post. sheesh!
