When I stay in Cape Town in November/December 2024, I would definitely like to do the following Table Mountain hike, which I already know, with my partner again:
Ascent via Platteklip Goroge - Kasteelspoort - then descent to Camps Bay or alternatively Pipe Track to Kloof Neck.
I did this hike in 2009 (to Kloof Nek) in a group and in 2016 (to Camps Bay) alone - without any problems. Now we keep reading about increasing safety problems on Table Mountain. My questions:
How has the security situation developed on Table Mountain in recent years?
Are hikes still possible with an acceptable level of risk (there would be two of us on the way).
Are there organized hikes or providers that offer hikes in larger groups (which would probably reduce the risk)?
