Seoul has five palaces dating back to the 1300s although all of them have burned down once or twice since then, meaning the current versions are generally just a couple hundred years old. Anyway, this was supposed to be the most famous complex. But we were pretty unimpressed. The color schemes in the maybe 15 buildings were all the same and the decorating style is minimalist to put a mildly. So we passed on seeing the other four palaces after learning that would simply be more of the same.
