The peace monument outside the train station. It was erected in memory of the war victims of World War I in 1925 to commemorate the 200 civilians who were shot there by the Germans in 1914. It also commemorated the destruction of the city center. But it was destroyed by German occupiers during the second world war and was only recently restored in 2004.
