A little whimsy for today. Basel's Christmas market is internationally known, but another seasonal event enjoyed by the locals is the Harley Santas ride. Held annually on a Saturday in Advent, 'the motorcyclists elaborately decorate their Harleys and ride into the city as a group. They hand out presents on Marktplatz and then park up near the Hotel Basel, giving people a chance to look over the decorated bikes while the riders enjoy their own get-together. Fun for all!
