This is an adolescent beaver who died in a trap. Altogether this summer we’ve caught three, including one pregnant female. The live ones were relocated per state law (which I think is a little unfair to simply foist the problem on another creek). Beavers are the bane of our existence; we manage 10 acres in conservation and have to balance the tree damage and stagnant water against moving the beavers. Last year we did not move any.
