Aww, Suzie, Happy Anniversary..the Yankee and I have been married for 100 years so every anniversary is Major ((L))
Kals idea sounds good, though I got kinda seasick thinking about it :D I love the idea of an Inn by the Ocean..I am no help but just wanted to say hello to my pals and wish you a Happy Major Anniversary :)

Suzie Aug 1st, 2006 08:22 PM

We all do love the water!!

Thanks Scarlett - yes 100 years does sound about right! ;)

This major anniversary will be followed by a major birthday in a few short months. Yikes I truly hate to think about it. Why are my kids still so young?

Suzie Aug 1st, 2006 08:23 PM

oops meant to thank makai1. I read the entire Cubs-centric trip report!! Another fine recommendation near the water!!

Scarlett Aug 1st, 2006 09:42 PM

Oh well, Major Anniversaries can be 100 years but Major Birthdays just mean you might be getting out of your 20's :D
So as long as I am here, Happy 30th Birthday :D

Suzie Aug 3rd, 2006 11:41 AM

Well kids, DH was advised that there would be no time off in Sept available to him. ((U))

Dinner in northern CA? Could we really justify driving up to south shore to eat at Evans?

Kal Aug 3rd, 2006 11:52 AM

GO!!!!
Or Plumpjack at Squaw?

Uncle Kal can babysit! ((B)) ((B))

annw Aug 3rd, 2006 12:34 PM

Highlands Inn or Tickle Pink at Carmel Highlands.

Or, Pine Inn if you want downtown Carmel (but thenm why would you?!)

Suzie Aug 3rd, 2006 12:36 PM

Love the Plumpjacks Kal. Are those beers for the babysitter or the sittees? ;)

LilMsFoodie Aug 3rd, 2006 12:37 PM

whale watch inn.

syd Aug 3rd, 2006 01:35 PM

LilMsFoodie,
Are you referring to the Whale Watch Inn in Gualala? Have you stayed there? If so, can you tell us about the place?
Thanks

LilMsFoodie Aug 3rd, 2006 02:31 PM

not recently but the location was so beautiful and romantic, it remains a favorite. LMF

Kal Aug 3rd, 2006 02:56 PM

Suuuuuz,
Yes!
BTW...you read The Insect's food section on Paradise Grill in the old T-Bistro?

We may go there for a munch tonight.

Suzie Aug 3rd, 2006 04:05 PM

Kal, I was busy reading the wine section. ((D))

I did read about Cafe Bernardo going out and then got distracted by the wine column. After that I'm sure there was some teen crisis to solve - lost sunglasses I think it was. So going back to the paper I see that Paragary, Spataro and Ernesto's owner are joining up to replace it (Cafe Bernardo) with Mexican food! Whoo Hoo! Anyway back to Paradise Grill, if they play Hawaiian music and serve a decent mai tai who cares what they serve on the plate! ;) Let me know what cha think! Memorize the fish section of the menu for me. I won't be able to eat out until next week sometime - off to one of those dreaded summer rituals - family reunion. I'd suggest raisng a glass for me but I'm going to be raising plenty aready!!!!
