Yes, there is no way you can leave a dog in a car in Yosemite. The thought of leaving my dogs in a car in Yosemite with the bear problem in just grizzly!

There are no "doormen" at the Ahwahnee. A couple of valet park personnel until 10 p.m., yes, doormen (or women), no.

We stayed at the Yosemite Lodge last month and there were warnings everywhere about leaving ANY food (including wrappers) in your car, even in the lodge parking lot. Bears will tear your car apart looking for food, and a dog is nothing more than food to them. The risk of taking your dog into the park is just too great--do the responsible thing and use a kennel.

Hello,

I have been in the valley working for the month of July and I have watched dozens of people drag their dogs along in the Valley in the 100 degree heat. So just a warning for those of you that are thinking about coming to the Valley and want to bring your animals, there are very few places to go with your animals, and the blacktop paths that you can take you animals on is very hot. Neither of you will likely enjoy yourselves.

And FYI dogs are not allowed on the hiking trails in Yosemite.

I love dogs and I like to travel with mine, but Yosemite is not a dog friendly place.

Enjoy the Park!

From the NPS website itself
Allowed...On fully paved roads, sidewalks, and bicycle paths (except when signed as not allowing pets)

There are a few additional (very obscure and unsigned) places where pets are allowed:

Wawona: Wawona Meadow Loop, Chowchilla Mountain Road, and Four Mile and Eleven Mile fire roads (but not the Four Mile Trail in Yosemite Valley).
Hodgdon Meadow: Carlon Road from the trailhead to Hodgdon Meadow and on the Old Big Oak Flat Road from Hodgdon Meadow to Tuolumne Grove parking lot.

Not allowed
On trails, including the trail to Vernal Fall (however, pets are allowed on the Wawona Meadow Loop)
On unplowed roads covered in snow
In undeveloped and wilderness areas
In public buildings
On shuttle buses
In lodging areas
In all walk-in and group campgrounds

There is a kennel in the Valley, see the below link for more details

https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/pets.htm

I'd recommned downloading the Valley map on the park website which includes paved bike trails. You may be able to take it to Mirror Lakes.
