I am so jealous Utahtea and Swisshiker! ;-)

Utahtea, your trip is almost upon you. I had to add that we were there the week of Sept 15 fall of 06. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had. Hearing the bugling, so much wildlife, fall colors in the aspens, wonderful weather, and all the things that have been mentioned. I know you will have a great time! :)

PS
Bring some water shoes and go for a soak in Boiling River. Heavenly!

utahtea :)

We're retired, too, but the trek from Central Texas to Montana is a bit too far in the car, so we're flying, tied to our dates.

Your dates might just overlap ours by a couple days!

I know that our cell phones will not be working there (no AT&T service last year inside the park at all), so getting in touch might be tricky.

You can email me at swisshiker at yahoo. We can always try!

And definitely take BayouGal's suggestion of water shoes! She gave me the tip of the Boiling River last year, and it was a BIG hit! (Still can't erase the picture in my mind of the man about 80 or so, dropping his shorts right there - right there! in front of me. Not pretty, I tell you.)

Dayle,
Not to worry, we carry everthing from bathing suits and shorts to thermal underwear and winter coats. We will be heading down to Utah after Yellowstone.

BayouGal,
We always keep a set of old shoes in the RV for the Virgin River in Zion National Park and other such places. I'm hoping we can finally get a chance to get to Boiling River. Last couple times we were to early in the year.

Swisshiker,
Our 10 days to two weeks also has to include the Grand Tetons so I'm afraid we will be leaving just as you are arriving, if we haven't already left. DH is retired, but I still work part time. I can do it from the RV as long as I have internet, so I have to be able to be somewhere after the 2 weeks that my aircard can work.

When we in Yellowstone three years ago we got cell service at Old Faithful and in Mammoth Hot Springs with Verizon. I don't know if my aircard will work at these locations but if I get service, I'll log in and say HI!

Hi Utahtea,

If you are passing through SLC, maybe we should try a little GTG for an early dinner or lunch with Barbara and some of our Ute Fodorites.

Any plans?

Hi Utahtea,
We just got back 2 weeks ago. I hope you make it to Boiling River. That was a high point for us (especially after climbing up those steps at Uncle Tom's trail and then horseback riding).

You sound very prepared.

Have a wonderful trip!
