I just came back from the Palm Springs Elderhostel, and one lady there was doing 3 back-to-back South California programs because her house is being remodeled... now that's the reason for travels, LOL!

Hello Travellers !
I travel (not necessarily in comfort) to see this gorgeous, diverse
world and all our living connections !
Did you know that if we go back about
40 generations we are all "related" ?
Hello !!!!!! How exciting !!!! I wish
we could have that sink in and get along ! We could be so much further ahead by helping & appreciating each others' contributions in this world instead of the "bombing" mentality that's taking hold ! I'd LOVE to travel more and see everyone and try your customs and food and share what I have too ! What a dream , right ?Love Ilonka

To explore, experience, and learn...

I travel for a change of scenery/topography. There is also no ocean around me (16 miles west of Pittsburgh) so the Atlantic Coast resorts are fun for me, especially the boardwalks and parks of Delaware which are way closer than S. Fl. By the end of this year I'd like to go to California.

A lot of the answers seem to coincide.

I also have a stressful job so I like to get away from life as I know it. Also, husband and I really like to get a break from our 2 teens, and vice-versa, I'm sure. Makes everyone a lot happier.

I don't want to run into anyone I know in my everyday world when I am away or else I have not gone far enough. Does this make sense?

Also, I was raised to put all my money in savings and into my home, like my parents did. But I have to think, what are their fondest memories? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my home, but we have so many memories of such beautiful places that we never would have seen if we chose to live like our parents. Life is short, and when my time is nearing the end, I will take those beautiful memories with me and will leave behind pictures instead of money.

I love to travel. If I could I would travel once a month. It just fullfills my soul. Traveling is refreshing.I love being by the ocean, brings such peace. I understand what you all mean when you say people get envious of your travels. I get the envious looks from people especially co-workers all the time. Hey, it is what we enjoy doing.
