The Signature Room at the John Hancock Tower has the best ladies rooms. The view from the potty is 96 floors above Chicago.

I spend a lot of time on the road and I welcome family and friends to use my room to camp out. This has allowed many people to visit places like NYC and London without having to worry about hotel costs and airfare (I get it almost free for some people, totally free for immediate family)
It is REALLY important to me to have a TV or radio in the bathroom as I am getting dressed for work while everyone is asleep.
At the St Regis, I pressed my pants and ate breakfast in the bathroom while 2 friends slept in the room.
Good thing the bathroom was huge... and I am very accomodating. But one of the things that bugs me most is not having anything to listen to while getting ready for work.
I am all about the bath and the bed!!!

The Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, FL ain't bad, either, for a chain hotel. Of course, I think it's owned (in part or wholly) by the plumbers union, so that would make sense.

One of the most gorgeous bathrooms was at the Hotel Healdsburg. It had a huge, deep soaking tub that I lived in and the bathroom was like a spa. Huge, walk-in shower, large vanity with dimmer switch, granite countertops.

It was so nice, I didn't feel the need to even patronize The Spa they had on the property. Nice bath amenities with soaking salts, lotions, etc. and huge, fluffy robes and slippers.

The Riverplace Hotel in Portland, OR also has very nice bathrooms with large vanities and a nice dimmer switch that I love, as I hate bright lights in the am.

I also like the baths at the Asland Springs Hotel in Ashland, OR. Decorated very nice with nice large bathtubs. A good bathtub or jacuzzi tub is always a must!

The Sonoma Mission Inn also has very nice, spacious tubs with spa amenities. They even set out little bottles of their Apricots n Cream lotion at turndown in little mesh bags! ***kim*** (~~)

The Hyatt Kauai has very large bathrooms which open with sliding double doors, large tub, double sink, toiletries from the hotel spa (ummm...coco mango lotion) and separate (with firmly closing door) toilet area (as the Brits say, a WC=water closet).
These bathrooms are standard with all rooms there. Ours appeared to be spotless.
The MGM Grand suites in LV have the separate tub/shower with glass door, if I recall right (it's been 5 yrs since there) and their standard tower rooms had spacious bathroms with tub showers.
I have res at The Venetian for December. My friends are looking forward to gambling and fun--while i look forwrd to checking out their bathroom????

The "Best Value" in hotel bathrooms has to go to the JW Marriott in Las Vegas. Huge with jacuzzi tub and glass enclosed rain shower. (kids in a different room!) Separate toilet area and a loooong vanity with two sinks. All for $159. Cheaper than that St. Regis, I'm sure.

This question is hilarious. But the most wonderful bathroom award goes to the Pensione Accademia in Venice, Italy. The bathtub with lovely tiled walls was so sparkling clean every day that I stood there marvelling at it, truly amazed. I tried to leave the cleaning lady a tip but she didn't take it!

Anyone who wonders about the attn. paid to bathrooms surely must know about the real estate trends in this area. Higher end buyers want more bathrooms; a bathroom for every person in the house if possible, and extra ones for company. And it is not just the number, but people are pouring $$ into remodeling their bathrooms w/bells and whistles and high end cabinetry, granite counters, etc., like they used to w/kitchens. I read recently that the bathroom phenomena is being surpassed now somewhat by the patio/outdoor living space phenomena (you know, an outdoor kitchen and living room in your outdoor space) but that bathroom upgrades are still going strong. For many people who don't have the high end bath as a treat at home, it is a real treat to have it on a vacation or when traveling on business (where everything in the room can count more than you think it ever would...)
I imagine a thread on hotel linens would also get alot of response.

okay, answer this for me ,please. My wife brings a suitcase full of her own toiletries to use, but always takes the hotel toiletries home with her....What the hell is with that??? cheers, Al

JW Marriott in Cancun rounds out my top 3 bathrooms!

ha ha ha... for some reason I think we all like freebies. I take the toiletries also and probably don't even use them that often!!!!I also bring my own too. You never know if the toiletries will be any good.

I tip the maid service well beginning on Day One of every hotel stay and always end up with numerous extra toiletries as a result, sometimes even stuff that wasn't laid out when I first arrived. I love to have those things in my guest bathroom at home and my kids like using them as well. I really like the bath goodies at Mandalay Bay in LV and brought all kinds of stuff home including little disposable bath mitts.

Although not huge, the San Francisco Ritz Carlton has a very lovely bathroom and it has its own water closet (which I like). The JW Marriott in Cancun is also very nice.

Between our vacation travels and the DH business travels, we have an abundance of toiletries. I donate them to the womans' prison or shelter.

I love the bathrooms at the Little Nell in Aspen, CO. They are tiled in a lovely beige tumbled marble. There is a sort of butler's pantry hall at the entrance with a high topped bureau and cubbyholes. There is an enclosed WC, a separate tiled shower and a nice tub. There are two sinks, separated. And they provide large bottles of Crabtree and Evelyn shampoo, lotion and even fancier soaps. There's even a packet of nail files and Q-tips. The towels are thick but I forget the brand. There are nice shag rugs, too.

I'm in the Venetian next week; what goodies will I get in the bathroom???

Palmilla, Four Seasons Hualalai and Four Seasons Chiang Mai. The heated toilet seats in Tokyo are pretty special, too!
