Who cares if it's Africa, Paris or WDW? Everyone likes something different (thank goodness!). I want to go everywhere, eventually! And I can't think of a better place to go to keep children entertained than WDW! Our most expensive vacation so far was our honeymoon in Tulum, Mexico - about $5500CDN for two weeks included flight, hotel, and food. Side trips and shopping added about another $3000CDN. took a family of 5 to Europe two years ago for 23 days. $8500. Worth every penny, especially now that I know you can spend a couple of grand more for less than half as many days at WDW.

She enjoys telling everyone how much things cost, particularly if the items were expensive. This behaviour is quite tacky, because it is similar to telling people how much money you make. It is simply not done in polite company. <BR> <BR>Bragging about being able to spend a huge amount on a trip is just as tasteless, IMHO. Some private things ought to remain private, even on an internet chat board.

First of all, some of us find it helpful to compare to the amount others spend on travel--whether it helps it in budgeting for our own trips or just discovering what trips are worth our hard earned money (Notice the difference in spending patterns. Some felt the money was better spent at Walt Disney World, while others wanted to go to Europe) <BR>Secondly, what your relative does and what the posters are doing here couldn't be more opposite. Internet forums provide an anonymity unavailable in normal conversation as you must well know--you took full advantage of this anonymity by posting a rude comment that I hope you would have never said in person. <BR>Thirdly, if you don't like the thread, be an adult and move on. None of us want to hear your lecture.

Right on, Amy! This has been a great thread. I know how much our trips within the US cost, but am glad to have some ballparks on Europe. Love to have people say, "worth every penny." <BR>

Most expensive trip was my honeymoon. <BR>$15,000 to see the South Pacific. Two nights in Oahu, 9 days in Fiji, (two islands), one night in Sydney (was not going to get that close to Australia and not see the Opera House) 5 days sailing the Whitsunday's and finally a week in Bali.

I just wanted to know as a personal reference because some people feel we spend to much money on vacations. Anyways, people who do not like this question should just move on and keep there smart remarks to themselves.

Ditto...WDW by far...I keep telling my husband it's the most expensive vacation we've ever taken and we've been to London at least four times, paris, key west, and canada...WDW hands down!

My husband and I are taking our daughter to WDW for 8 days next month. Right now, our airfare, passes and lodging are at approximately $1586. We have no intention of spending more than $2500. After 18 trips to WDW, I've learned how to get the discounts. All of our vacations, Europe, Disney, wherever, cost about that, if not less. It's all about how you plan the trip. I look for discounts wherever possible, without compromising the quality of the trip.

I know a person who lives in a trailer and has $750 a month to live on. She's facing a 50 percent increase in energy costs this winter. Her family sends her money regularly, just to keep her afloat. It is my pleasure to fly her to Fla. twice a year to see her twin sister. .... Oopps, sorry, but I hit the wrong button and strayed into the splurge thread. I was looking for the humanity page. <BR>About $3,300 for our recent honeymoon. We bought a package to Maui for $1,700 and spent about $1,600 for a stay at the Grand Canyon (where got married),then travel to Phoenix & L.A. Total time of our trip was about 12 days.

I once dropped $4,500 for one night in a suite at the Plaza in New York. I soaked in that jacuzzi until I was a wrinkled old prune. Worth every penny in my book. <BR> <BR>Ta ta.
