Depends on the couple? I'd say it depends on the hair. Humid weather and frizzy hair just doesn't do it for me on the romantic scale (my hair, that is). But then, Vegas is glitzy and tacky, tacky tacky. Still, it could be romantic if you renew your wedding vows at one of those tacky wedding chapels with Elvis music playing. It would certainly be memorable!

Momotx, I would love to visit some of the museums and attractions in D.C. Different honeymoon location but it could be fun.

We started a tradition of taking a weekend getaway for our anniversary to in-state mountain towns in Colorado. We go hiking, see the attractions, go to museums, have some great meals and relax.

I was leaning towards Florida. Co-Worker felt Vegas was more romance with the restaurants, shows, dining, etc.. I felt the beach, sunsets, laid back atmosphere was more romantic. Not the slots ringing. But like one poster said, it all depends on the couple. Trust me if I could afford to go to some of the exotic places mentioned I would in a heartbeat. We're on a strict budget, plus with the holidays forthcoming I need to watch the wallet.

Definitely go for Florida. Went to Ft.Lauderdale last year and stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort. Beautiful hotel located right on the ocean. Had a blast!! Pretty sunrises/sunsets.

Many years ago we stayed at the Sanibel Island Resort and Spa. We ordered room service for dinner and they set up a beatiful table on the terrace so we could watch the sunset over the water. It has been the most romantic dinner we ever had. Another florida choice, Little Palm Island, if you want to splurge.

LV and Florida both rate low on my list in general. Lots of alternatives which are far better.
