Where will you be this Thanksgiving?
 

Just curious I see the post that says less air travel this Thanksgiving. Wondering if this means less people will connect with relatives this holiday? Where will you be?

On a plane for a good part of it.... to Keystone for a wonderful relaxing weekend in my Paradise!!! : ) (by the way, with two of my loved ones and meeting another there)

very sweet grasshopper... where is keystone and what is it like?

Keystone is my favorite ski resort in the Rockies. They refer to it as the Nature of the Rockies and it truly is:<BR>http://keystone.snow.com/ Great combination of natural beauty and fun things to do; frozen lake for ice skating, cute villages for shopping in, great restaurants and wonderful condos. Watching the sunset over the Rockies from a hot tub with a glass of wine in the snow is sublime.

so to keep asking you questions on this but do you think you will get snow this weekend? Just started skiing last winter and I am completely hooked, thought it was dicey in November to find snow.

I will be flying into New Mexico from the east coast (NYC). Always love this flight as we have a stop over in Dallas and people from the North East are heading there for a thanksgiving football game. Not interested in football but love seeing excited fans making their way. For me it is onto a Southwestern holiday YUM YUM & YUM! Family in Albuquerque the following weekend we head to Santa Fe for the afternoon then of course on Sunday it is back to the salt mines in NYC.:):)Love going home.

Don't have to travel far to my childhood home in Los Gatos, Ca. It is supposed to rain, too bad. There's usually a lively basketball game in the backyard on Thankgiving. And my brother-in-law wants to deep fry a turkey in the backyard. Anyone ever do this?

Unfortunately, Wadsworth, Ohio. There is no duller place in the universe than my father-in-law's home. There is no duller person on earth than my father and sister-in-law.

Sarah,<BR><BR>We are not spending our Thanksgiving in an exotic place. We are having 18 family members in Rochester, NY at our home for a great traditional Italian/Lebanese dinner. We have to put also do the Turkey and trimmings for our Irish daughter in law. Sounds like the league of Nations, but it freaken amazing. I love family get togethers. Hop yous is great too.

cj:I just like hearing where people are going. I will only be driving 2 1/2 hours to Southern New Jersey.I will be volunteering near the WTC site for the red cross 12am-8am Thanksgiving morning. This is my story anyway to keep from doing those dishes:). But really, I hope I am not too tired.

First of all, I skiied at Keystone like 8 years ago, you are lucky!<BR><BR>I am heading to NY from Atl tomorrow nite. Spend a little time with the folks, and see Kiss Me Kate on Saturday nite.<BR><BR>Have a happy, everyone!

I'll be driving from New Jersey to my parents on Long Island (wearing my new plaid suit) where I will sit on their couch, drink cheap beer, eat turkey, look at my watch and be thankful Thanksgiving is only once a year.

This year, like every other, I will be thanking God for the fact that I can host my parents (80's) and also my entire living family. They can all drive to me within 2 hours. I am very, very lucky. I will have between 25 and 35 for dinner. Everyone can bring any person with them who doesn't have somewhere to go. We also go from about 10am in the morning until whenever. Dinner is at 1 but some come at 3 and eat later. We play cards, games, and watch Detroit lose all at the same time. We also drink and eat like every good Italian family does. Turkey is just the beginning. <BR><BR>I also thank God that I really don't have anyone with sourpuss's attitude on this particular holiday. One nephew is bringing me his U. of Chicago school mates and has already called, making me promise not to pick teams for Trivial Pursuit until he gets there. We don't need to fly this year at all, but in past years nephews have come home from Philadelphia and NYC schools. This year I will only be missing one neice who is trying to break the ties in Columbus, Ohio. She'll be back.<BR><BR>Sourpuss, I wish you could come to my house and taste the wine I brought home from Italy. Why don't you try bringing some real good beer with you- and also a present for the cook. It might not work- but it's a start.

We are fortunate enough to live at a resort area (Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms, SC). We have an early dinner and then normally go over to the beach to sit for about an hour and count all of our blessings. My top one is that I'm a 2 year breast cancer survivor and every single day is Thanksgiving for me.<BR><BR>Wishing you all a great holiday!

Kal,<BR>With this rain you'll have the place to yourself. Wave to those stuck in traffic going the other way, the ones in the 4 wheel drives with the snowboards and skis on top. Cheers!<BR>

Grasshopper--hope it's not too warm for skiing. I heard they cancelled a World Cup event in Aspen because of the warm weather.

Not much snow so far, however, it is expected to snow all weekend. Don't really plan to ski anyway. Just relax and play. : )
