Vince--I am sorry you did not get completely cordial responses to your question.<BR><BR> A favorite hamburger place is Corner Bistro in the Village on Hudson Streeet, or near it, it usually gets voted best hamburger.<BR><BR> Hot dogs--anyplace with Papaya in the title--Gray's Papaya OR Papaya King. There places are a weird great NY institution, with the specialty of the combination of hot dots and papaya beverages. Also for hot dogs: Katz's, already mentioned. A great New York experience, semi-untouched by time.<BR><BR> Pizza--John's is great, the original one is on Bleecker Street, unless it closed. <BR><BR> New Corner Bistro, Magnoia Bakery (or Cafe, I forget), go there for truly American cake and coffee. Seats about 6 people but nobody stays very long.<BR><BR> Where are you coming from? There are other places featuring the food of various American regions (like Tex-Mex), do you want that kind of thing too?<BR><BR><BR>
