Where are you vacationing this Fall?
 

Just curious, now that summer is almost near an end. Are there any vacationers traveling this Fall? We have no kids, and ususally take advantage of the off-season and do our trips in October. <BR>Just wanted to know where are you going for your Fall vacation this year.

We're headed to the Outer Banks for a week in September. I agree--fall is a great time to vacation if you don't have kids. We always go in September or October and get awesome rates. It's nice because they're usually trips we could never afford in the height of summer. Plus the crowds are gone and we get terrific destinations almost all to ourselves.

spent the big bucks for summer but we will get away to Memphis for a weekend, only 4 hours from home.<BR>There is an exhibit there at the wonders Museum - treasures of the Czars. It looks interesting.<BR>Good BBQ and good jazz.

My husband is returning from 6 months on deployment and we are taking a 10 day trip in late Sept., to Annapolis/DC and New York. Can't wait!

Hawaii for us in September! Whee!

Have had a ball traveling around the U.S. this summer. Will return to work this fall - leaving maybe only an extended weekend available for a getaway to the mountains.<BR><BR>Happy Trails,<BR>Paul

Vegas in Sept and Oct. NYC for the FIRST time in Dec!! I can't wait for that. We are renting a limo for a full day for 2 days with a bunch of friends. Should be great.

Where is there still a great spot to visit, that will still be warm out west?<BR>Looking for a romantic spot for my husband and I.<BR><BR>Thanks

We are going to Maui for three weeks in September!!

Interesting topic since I've arranged for my husband and I to take a trip for a few days in September, but I keep changing my mind as to where to go! I'm kind of thinking of waiting til the last minute to see if I can do a "last minute special" to somewhere really cool. Otherwise I'm considering, in no particular order:<BR>San Diego, Tahoe, San Juan Islands, Gulfport, Mississippi (hubby likes to gamble), Boston, and Playa del Carmen. Maybe I'll decide soon!

2 freebies with Hyatt points. A weekend at the Stanhope in Manhattan, and another weekend in Newport. These are no kids trips and since we 're driving, very inexpensive. We don't normally travel in fall, but if we don't use the nights we lose them.

Lake Tahoe in October for a week. DH has a conference there for two days then it just so happens our our parents timeshare starts right after the conference. WHAT LUCK! We'll spend a few more nights at the timeshare. <BR><BR>Utahtea<BR>

Cruise to the Carribean in October!! Yeah Baby!!

To Germany for 2 weeks in Oct. We were in Munich 2 years ago just long enough to run through the airport for a connecting flight. Looking forward to seeing something of the country.

Colorado Springs 12-14 Sept. for the <BR>USS Trathen DD530 reunion.

Santa Monica in Sept with in-laws. Disneyland with mom in Sept. Then Palm Springs for a long weekend with husband in October.

We have planned a week long trip in WV at Blackwater Falls during fall foilage time. Anyone been there?

We are planning a trip to Benton, VA to see the D Day Memorial and other things. It should be nice there and hopefully the leaves will be in full color.

Going to Jackson Hole, Grand Teton and Yellowstone in late September...comfortable temperatures, fall color, no crowds.

Cuba this November!

We are sticking close to home this fall - probably go to Big Sur at least once, Monterey a couple times, and up to SF a few times.

Sometime in midwest and out west, then we're doing parts of Africa, followed by Dallas, Key West and San Fran. Plus some small family stuff inbetween the majors.

We are going to New Orleans in October.

Mari - October is my favorite time of year for Lake Tahoe. The crowds are gone, the weather has turned chilly, there generally isn't any snow yet. It's perfect for doing a little light hiking and then sitting by the lake or in front of the fireplace with some hot chocolate.

Wow lots of travelers this fall. This is me & DH time of year to travel too. Still undecided where to go. Looking into a cruise maybe?
