What other Bulletin Boards do you recommend?

I love this board - full of good people w/good info. However sometimes I have questions that aren't really about travel (some of you may have seen my post about what to wear to a wedding). I've tried a couple of other boards on different topics, but very few seem to have the kind of activity we find here on Fodors.

So I ask you, what other bulletin boards have you found useful on topics other than (or including, I suppose) travel? Just curious (I'd love to find good bb's for decorating and fashion). I've visited slate.com for politics but folks there are REALLY mean!!!!!!!

I enjoy straightdope.com for all sorts of info. I don't like frommers too much - it is too difficult to navigate and hardly any activity - questions never seem to get answered

tripadvisor.com now has message boards...
I know what you mean about political message boards! Everyone seems to be trying to be the next Ann Coulter!
Ooops, just reread your message - I don't really know of any good non-travel boards...

I find epinions.com good for lots of information on many things.
I signed up for tripadvisor.com and was so disappointed. Immediately when their e-mail came in to confirm that I had signed up, about 20 spam e-mails also arrived. I had never had spam in my e-mail like that before. And, somehow, they manage to bypass the bulk mail folder and it goes directly to my e-mail. Also, their forums are not as good as Fodors. There is not much good information and very few responses to anything in Tripadvisor forums. I would not recommend them at all, and thought I would warn everyone about their spam tactics.

Snowrooster, I like visiting Jessie Wise and Susan Wise Bauer's (mother-daughter) homeschooling website, not because I homeschool (although I do supplement a bit) but b/c the parents have great suggestions. If you ever have a question about your child's education or development, this is a good place to go.

OMG GoTravel - I love Television Without Pity. I even read their recaps of shows I have seen because their recaps are so sarcastic and funny. If you watch any reality tv realitynewsonline.com is pretty good for recaps as well.

Being a timeshare owner, I belong to the Timeshare Users Group BBS @ www.tug2.net . Anyone can register, but you must be a member to access the 'members only sections'. There is all sort of travel related information on TUG, besides other information on timeshares, buying, selling and exchanging.
Also TSTips @ www.tstips.com for more information and general stuff too.
Fodor's of course.

If you are former Navy who served on destroyers, destroyer types, or tenders, the Tin Can Sailor site, http://www.destroyers.org lists 865 ship reunions and lists the names of 59,000 sailors who served on the ships.

For Korean War vets and families, the Korean War project site, http://koreanwar.org has bb's for each branch of service plus planned reunions.
