The Sugar Cane Train was a big disappointment. I've been to Haleakala twice and have yet to see the sunrise. The first time we had a flat tire and were too tired by the time we got there not to mention cold and the second time I thought I'd do the bike ride down - lots of cold rain and snow squalls on the way up. Still I plan on trying again when we go in 10 days. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm. And besides that, the first 2 trips make for great storytelling later.

Ah, yeah, I will definitely stay away from the railing on my lanai, intoxicated or not. :-)
