Travdis, you must be a new person here, so let me explain: type in that name you've spelled so perfectly in the "search" window, and you'll see all his/her posts.

Troll: Short, wrinkled, cranky thing with freak eye in the middle of forehead.

Horns are optional and must be earned.

Example of Troll Questions:

Is there anything worth seeing out west or is the Grand Canyon just a big hole?

What is the biggest mall in the NYC metro area that I can visit the day after Thanksgiving? Also include no traffic shortcuts in reply.

Should the airline refund my money and give me two free airline tickets because the flight attendent refused to give me a refill on my sprite?

You are absolutely right elberko. Travdis aka JustineShapiro aka Bunchargum and on and on, I didn't make the connection till now.

cigalechanta Jul 16th, 2004 10:39 AM

also, trolls change their names over and over again..trolls are cowards.

jor Jul 16th, 2004 10:48 AM

A troll is someone who knows what a "thread" is but claims not to know what a troll is!

jimshep Jul 16th, 2004 04:15 PM

jor, Your reply is the best.

dwoodliff Jul 19th, 2004 02:06 PM

A troll is someone who lurks among the threads, waiting for someone to make a comment they can pounce on and make an issue out of.

Based on the one on my back porch, they usually have pink hair, lie around naked, and let the dog chew on them.

jor...:)

vacationbound Jul 27th, 2004 08:14 PM

Jor: That wasn't very nice. Just because I know what a thread is doesn't mean I knew what people meant by troll. Fortunately, thanks to some of the nicer people, now I do know.

cigelachanta: Good call.

Surfside6: I see what you mean about not liking it when you're accused of being a troll when you're asking an honest question.

Happy travels to all!

cigalechanta Jul 27th, 2004 08:22 PM

I think some forget when we first posted. I had to teach myself how to use the computer, didn'nt know a troll from a thread. And topping was a mystery. I still don't get all the other things like lol=laughing out loud,
IMo=in my opinion, and so much more, I'm always learning.

iamq Jul 27th, 2004 09:22 PM

Gee, I'm learning too. I thought LOL meant "lots of luck". :-B

vacationbound Jul 28th, 2004 06:32 AM

What is "topping"? Another one that I learned is BTW = by the way and IMHO = in my honest opinion.

seetheworld Jul 28th, 2004 06:36 AM

figured out some of the other stuff, but what is s.o.o.l?

caribtraveler Jul 28th, 2004 06:38 AM

Topping means bringing a thread back to the top.
Someone may ask a question that was asked a few days earlier. To make it easier for that person, you can go into the earlier thread, type in "ttt" which means "take it to the top" and the thread will move up.

Craig Jul 28th, 2004 07:02 AM

ttt = to the top (take it to the top would be tittt :-) )

IMHO = in my "humble" opinion

SOOL or SOL = s*** out of luck

seetheworld Jul 28th, 2004 07:11 AM

Craig: ooohhh! look forward to using that one day!

SurfSide6 Jul 28th, 2004 10:01 AM

If you want to see lots of trolls and cat fights go to the Europe forum. There are alot of "regulars" that can be very judgemental. The Italy site can especially disturbing.
