What does DH mean?

I see several folks refer to their husband as DH. So what does it mean.

I can think of something really bad or really good! :)

Scarlett Sep 11th, 2004 07:36 PM

Dear Husband

Betsy Sep 11th, 2004 07:43 PM

I guess it depends if you regard your husband as really bad or really good!

travelinandgolfin Sep 11th, 2004 07:46 PM

Dear Husband. That was one of my choices! :)

Of course, you would think on a travel board, everyone being in a good mood and all, it would be something positive and not the other one.

Wonder why none of us guys use DW??

Jocelyn_P Sep 11th, 2004 07:56 PM

On the Europe board, ira refers to his wife as LW (Loving Wife?).

Statia Sep 11th, 2004 09:11 PM

Typically "dear husband." However, it can also refer to "dorky husband." :)

KathrynT Sep 11th, 2004 09:30 PM

How about DARLING Husband?

Any others?

lcuy Sep 11th, 2004 09:48 PM

I told mine it means dear husband, but often I am thinking dememted when I type dear...

TopMan Sep 11th, 2004 11:01 PM

I think it mmeans DUH ("I'll wear WHATEVER I feel like wearing, Honey, while YOU make all the arrangements and get yourself contorted about whether or not anybnody cares if you wear capri pants") Husband.

Lilley Sep 12th, 2004 06:37 AM

Let's see? Hmmm.. Divine Husband, Dingy Husband, Dorky Husband, Distinct Husband, Daring Husband, Delicatable Husband, Dangerous Husband, Dreamy Husband, Damn good Husband, and of course Dear Hubby! Take a pick :-)

jnn1964 Sep 12th, 2004 07:04 AM

Demented Husband. Or, Delirious Hussy if he's doing the typing.

buckeyemom Sep 12th, 2004 07:12 AM

Dumb husband, dopey husband, dodo-brained husband or dear husband, take your pick.

LilyLace Sep 12th, 2004 07:18 AM

Mine is Darling Husband But these are great!

joesorce Sep 12th, 2004 08:53 AM

I always thought it meant Dumber Half.

SusanP Sep 12th, 2004 09:09 AM

Jocelyn, With LW, ira means Lady Wife.

Clifton Sep 12th, 2004 10:41 AM

Lady Wife? To differentiate from ...?

Scarlett Sep 12th, 2004 10:49 AM

My Lady Wife is from days of Knights and their Ladies and I think that is a charming way to refer to ones wife. Shows a gentleman :)

TopMan, in your case there is a possibility that it would be Dreadful Husband, but I could be wrong.

Around here, it is just Darlin H ~

Clifton Sep 12th, 2004 11:12 AM

Thanks Scarlett. I'd heard the term but never knew where it came from. It had always seemed a little redundant to me (I'd never have married any but a lady!) but in sort of Victorian/Arthurian sort of story telling way, I can see it's appeal to some.

kimamom Sep 12th, 2004 11:15 AM
