the old state pen in Boise h ad an interesting exhibit of prison tatoos when i visited in 2002. I don't know if it was a permanent exhibit or a temporaty one.

Seriously, my last semester in college at USC, I interned for the South Carolina Department of Corrections and worked in a prison.

Never knew what prison tattoos were.

Wow, did you maybe see tattoos?

They really don't have any significance in terms of making judgements about the bearer though, so there's really no reason to be able to identify them! Or so I've been told. :)
