Anne, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit last year and that you're returning. If your husband really enjoys architecture, he might be interested in a guided architectural walking tour (check the Buffalo Convention and Visitors Bureau website). There are several tours to choose from. Also, the Miss Buffalo boat tours have istorical/architectural tours of the waterfront with info. regarding the grain elevators and the Erie Canal. Also, the botanical gardens and the basillica in South Buffalo. Have a great time!

Drove thru in 1999 at night, road signs on the interstate were so old or dirty they could not be read, drove thru again in 2001, same song second verse.

Can't judge a city by it's road signs. Why bother posting if you've only driven through?

Thanks for the suggestions of botanical gardens and Basillica. We will have to stay an extra day or two to see it all.

Any recommendations for good Polish restaurants? We ate at some great ones in Chicago where they had roast stuffed duck and roast chicken dinners, and with the large Polish population in Buffalo, I imagine there must be some good ones there too.
I've never been there but there is a restaurant called the Polish Villa that is supposed to be good.
