In the publication Best Places Rated, cities are ranked in several categories. San Diego ranks worse than New York in education, the arts, and transportation (no mass transit).

I agree with xx. Being a former native SD sure other places have high real estate but at least you can live nicely on your salary. SD is an extremely low paying city in comparison. People do settle for a half loaf of bread for the beautiful climate. It has been this way for as long as I can remember. I have no intention of going back there. I would rather be paid and live nicely and forego the weather. What good is nice weather if you can't own a decent sized home with land, or save money. I just visit there, which is fine.

I doubt anyone from NYC would be deterred by our homeless poplulation. Which doesn't reach to the suburbs, at least that I have noticed.

Two worst things:

The price of homes is horrible and the drivers from Tijuana that drive 40 miles/hour on the freeway.

LOL, those 20yr old, crummy TJ trucks drive me nuts on the freeway too!

too many men (best or worst thing)
|
yes, the ratio of men to women is high, but the men aren't what most women are seeking. Lots of military men, uneducated surf bums/partiers, and immigrant workers.
|
"immigrant workers"?? Don't you mean ILLEGAL ALIENS? Yep. bunch of those bastards.
