There is a residential street in Madison, Wisconsin called Togstead Glen. It always piqued my interest as a kid because it sounded like something out of The Hobbit.

Not a street in South Carolina, but a sign that points to Clinton in one direction, and Prosperity in the other direction (two small towns).

How about The Shambles and WhipmaWhopma Gate in York, UK?

annikany Apr 19th, 2006 07:32 AM

We have a road in Baldwinsville NY called Dinglehole Road. :-)

ncgrrl Apr 19th, 2006 07:53 AM

In Chapel Hill, NC there is Smith Level Road. It's a very hilly road.

Durham, NC has WaWa Street.

It might be in Raleigh or Cary or Apex: Toesnot pronunced Toes-not.

Driving on highway 49 in Randolph County NC there is a sign for "Complex" and underneath the name is "Unincorporated" I have a good laugh because I see it as it was too complex to incorporate Complex.

Pig Turd Alley in Sutter Creek, California

mrsd2fan Apr 19th, 2006 08:20 AM

Annikany- I know that road! (I'm from North Syracuse originally)

There's a road near Danielsville, GA called " Booger Hill Road" I kid you not!
There's also a town somewhere near aAthens, GA called "Jot 'em Down Road"

annikany Apr 19th, 2006 08:49 AM

mrsd2fan - You can't forget a road like that :-) It's where we pick blueberries oddly enough.
I knew you were from this area from some of your other responses. You also like riding Harleys? (My husband and I both ride Harleys). Maybe you were on tour when you found Dinglehole Road. :-) It's good riding country.

I love the intersection of Hoes Lane and Old Hoes Lane in Piscataway, NJ -- nothing like a little variety! ;)

mrsd2fan Apr 19th, 2006 09:16 AM

annikany- you have a good memory. My hubby played on a dart league in B'ville and we had a camp on Cross Lake...

dwooddon Apr 19th, 2006 01:52 PM

Is anyone aware that the aforementioned Kitchen Dick Road has an intersection with Woodcock Rd?

A few more, all courtesy of contributors to RoadTripAmerica.com:

mrsd2fan- Cross lake is so pretty and a great place to ride to on bikes. We always had trouble finding it though until we realized you have to find Tater Rd. to get there.
ps Baldwinsville is happening these days! Thanks to Budweiser.
