The best up close and personal was on a twin diesel 33 Knot fishing boat about 20 - 30 mi off the NW coast of Cabo.

We were catching Dorado (Mahi), Grouper, Marlin, and Wahoo while the Whales were laughing at us within 100 meters - amazing experience.

PEAD, eclipse and full moon? Hmmmmm, lets all watch for the witches on their brooms Sunday evening. Unless they are too busy to take their ride as they will still be trying to insult, terrorize and put down the wonderful, carrying and well mannered Fodorites.

If we're back to talking about whales, and if anyone is really interested in CONTACT, I recommend a trip to Baja to San Ignacio Lagoon. Wild gray whales come up to your boat and allow you to touch them. Mothers will sometimes push their 3-month-old calves up for you to pet. I have been in a 10 foot skiff surrounded by half a dozen whales. It is really one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Ranger, I posted my first response on this thread before I read Orchid's other posts. By then, I was suuuuucked in. Besides, I had a rough week last week so I've been self-indulgent this week. :-D
