For the last 70 years it has been high sport to steal or alter the street signs in Chicago. And OSB is so correct, it costs a fortune for all of us.

Every time I go to friends' houses and they have their street signs from the old neighborhood cleverly mounted in their yards as a motif. (Usually with Irish Parking Only or something like that underneath it- I really do cringe.) And I'm not a goodie two shoes, but what an example of poor role modeling!

And my oldest got into big trouble from me once with this. He has the sign from over his H.S. stadium's stands in his Sports viewing garage. He said they gave it to him. LOL!

When I moved out of my last house, I found 3 different street signs from the Mt. Greenwood Chicago area behind some garage particle board. I think they were remnants of a long past wild night. No one ever confessed and my brother ended up taking them for his cop friends who live there. I can't win.

We see one in a small depressed but comign back town in MI, called Cassopolis all the time. Someone took red paint and made the assopolis into a fancy hicago. We know it is not Chicago.
