Universal Studios Florida
I am planning a trip to Universal Studios and Island Adventures in January 2012 during the weekdays. Will it be crowded to the point that the express line tickets will be necessary in order to enjoy all of the attractions on a 2 day pass or will it be less crowded because of the time of year?

No one has a crystal ball as to attendance, but that time of the year is usually slower. Wait until you get there. If you need the express pass you can buy it when you are there.
|
If you stay at a property onsite - the express pass is free.
http://www.universalorlando.com/Hote...ss-Hotels.aspx We stayed at Portofino a few years ago. Its OK - but worth it for the pass and you dont need a car. You can walk/boat/or pedi cab to the parks. schmerl is right - January is slow season, especially if there is a cold front. |
Regardless, you're going to need an express pass for anything in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you are interested in that part of the park, I'd get it regardless of the season.

Several attractions in the Wizardly World do not accept the express pass so don't get them just for that. That is why on site guests get early entry into the park.
|
I think only the dragon ride accepts the express pass.
|
Doesn't the Hogwarts ride? If not, then I agree that there's not much use in paying for express pass if the OP isn't staying at an on-site resort. That's the ride with the longest wait time.

No...Forbidden Journey does NOT accept the express pass. Only the Dragons take it.
