Thing is he miss me and wanted me to come over so said yes!

sofie1983 Jan 1st, 2013 03:19 PM

But he Think i come another day so i can surprise

janisj Jan 1st, 2013 03:28 PM

No Swede I've ever known speaks 'pidgin English'

sofie - your stories are getting crossed - He doesn't know you are coming, but he has a car so you don't need one, but then again he knows you are coming, but just another day . . .

It is getting pretty deep in here.

You have several flights ahead of you - at least 3 but probably more -- you'd better get to work booking.

Just took a quick look at Kayak and the best fare seems to be about $1800 in coach. You would need to leave a day or two in advance since the trip is about 23 hours - Stockholm to London Heathrow to either NY or DC to Dallas and then to Austin - so 4 flights. I would be afraid of some sort of problem in the flights and would leave on the 4th so you are sure of getting there by the 6th.

And I would definitely not travel without being sure he can pick you up - since getting around Texas without a car is practically impossible.

Oh, and am not a hockey fan - but since there is a boyfriend in the picture I think the hockey is actually immaterial.

And I'm sure he can get you a free ticket - all the players are given freebies - esp for teams with practically no audience.

DebitNM Jan 1st, 2013 04:27 PM

Where does she say he is on the team?

janisj Jan 1st, 2013 04:31 PM

oh that's true - sofie only said the friend will be AT the same game . . .

nytraveler Jan 1st, 2013 06:19 PM

Why would one be at such a game unless one was on the team? And want one's girlfriend to be there?

DebitNM Jan 1st, 2013 06:29 PM

This whole thread is a mystery. Still not sure it's on the up and up.

DebitNM Jan 1st, 2013 06:37 PM

I also don't think she was hoping she would get a "ticket" she was talking about ticket to game, but airline ticket.

sofie1983 Jan 2nd, 2013 02:00 AM

He is not in the team!! He is collage

sofie1983 Jan 2nd, 2013 02:15 AM

Im not talking about game ticket!

AustinTraveler Jan 2nd, 2013 06:25 AM

This is total B.S. Swedes, especially college-aged, speak better English than a lot of Americans I've known.

nytraveler Jan 2nd, 2013 09:52 AM

Yes - and she started out saying she is going to a hockey game - as if that is the objective of the trip - not meeting a boyfriend.

And agree that the Swedes I know do have much better English.

sofie1983 Jan 2nd, 2013 09:52 AM

we plan to go and look at the game together with a friend!

AustinTraveler Jan 2nd, 2013 10:25 AM

Oh, so now the boyfriend knows you're coming? So much for SURPRISE!

janisj Jan 2nd, 2013 10:49 AM

sofie: We can keep track of your story better than you can :D >)

sofie1983 Jan 2nd, 2013 11:23 AM
