Sofie -

You hvae this listed as a trip report - rather than a question.

You need to ask the editors to change this.

Separately, there is a strike between owners and players in the professional hockey league - so there is no hockey in the US at the moment. Depending on what happens in the next few days - they may cancel the season entirely.

If you are talking about some other type of hockey - college or something - you would have to tell us where the game will be. (Although I did't know Texas schools had hockey teams.) Texas has many airports and you would need to provide more info.

For info on best choice of tickets have a look at kayak.com.

Professional Ice hockey? If so, do you know that there is a lockout and no games are being played? And if you do want a PRO game, why in Texas?

Fly SAS to either Newark, Dulles [Washington DC] or O'Hare and watch a game there, if they start playing again. To travel to TX would require another flight on a US airline.

January

Buying a ticket from Sweden to US in just a few days is going to be very expensive. You will then have to buy another ticket to TX.

[Is this a serious request?]

sofie1983 Jan 1st, 2013 01:33 PM

Yes! I'm gonna surprise a friend who will go to the same game

sofie1983 Jan 1st, 2013 01:35 PM

Before he will return home to sweden

DebitNM Jan 1st, 2013 01:39 PM

use kayak.com to find flights as was mentioned above; depending on how long you stay - airfare is around US$1300. Flight time is 18 hours plus so you better pack and get to the airport soon.

sofie1983 Jan 1st, 2013 02:23 PM

Why is Sweden home of trolls

capxxx Jan 1st, 2013 02:59 PM

Troll = this is such an odd request that Debit thinks you are joking. But its just crazy enough that I believe you!

You need to get a ticket to Austin Texas, from wherever you are -- this close to travel day it will be very expensive, and possibly more than one change, which makes for a long day of travel.

Once there you probably will want to rent a car, or pay for very expensive taxi rides. (There may be some kind of shuttle service). The Stars' arena is in Cedar Park, TX which is a few miles north of Austin.

It would also be possible to fly to Houston TX (or even Dallas) and then drive to Cedar Park, if flights work better. But the drive is 1 to 3 hours.

Will not have trouble getting a ticket to an AHL hockey game in Texas. It's about as popular as hockey is in Spain, I would imagine -- I went to an AHL game in Las Vegas once, and it was similar to high school hockey in Massachusetts.

Have fun!
