On my iTunes, I have:

Black Eyed Peas ( I love "Latin Girls")
Cold Play
Destiny's Child
Natasha Bedenfield

I'm so white bread boring.

Buddha Bar Mixes
Best of Hotel Costes
Verve Remixe 3
Nina Simone

I really like anything by The Killers lately, but Queen's Greatest Hits is my favorite everyday standby. If you're a child of the 80's, Poison is still great fun (please don't make fun of me!).

I love the Natasha Bedenfield video with the boomboxes following her around. I always see it early in the morning when I'm working out and it is such a nice, wholesome, upbeat way to start the day!

I have about 700 cd's in my collection, but here are some that get the most play:
Best of Miles Davis and Gil Evans
Putameyo Bossa Nova
Donald Fagan - Nightfly
Stacey Kent - The Boy Next Door
Ronnie Earl - Colours of Love
Frank Sinatra - The Capitol Years
BB King - Sweet Little Angel

Bronxzilla,

Be careful what you put out there on the web. Had a co-worker fired for something she put on a personal blog. I don't want to lose you to corporate rules.

Anyway, there are couple of threads out there about songs for a road trip. Recently one by mr.wonderful. I think this would be a good test for you to see how the search function really works on this site.

I have itunes on the personal computer at home, but no ipod yet. I'm amazed how many songs it can hold.

Anyway, I've recently had a Otis Redding craving.

re:Nightfly
Now I'll have the song "Maxine" running through my head all day.

Ncgrrl, thanks for the concern - nothing to worry abuot though.

Snowrooster: As long as you're not a Warrant fan, I won't make fun of you...

OneWanderingJew Sep 20th, 2005 07:17 AM

Since my husband scored a couple of tickets to see Paul McCartney tonight, am doing a Beatles, Wings mix. Haven't heard anything from his new CD yet but maybe tonight?? Personally, I hope he plays his old stuff

snowrooster Sep 20th, 2005 07:23 AM

Peter - No, not a Warrant fan. You didn't happen to see their former lead singer on Celebrity Fit Club on VH-1? Kind of sad (though he seemed better off at the end of the show than he was at the beginning). I guess we all knew those 80's glam metal rockers might not look as good at 40 as they did at 20!!

kureiff Sep 20th, 2005 07:53 AM

Snowrooster: Blushing as a I admit to being a fan of Poison, too.

bronxzilla Sep 20th, 2005 07:55 AM

Any Nelson fans in the house?

Margie Sep 20th, 2005 07:59 AM

Cold Play
Dr. Michael White
Filippa Giordano

A live recording from 2005 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival : Galactic

Michael Schenker - The Endless Jam

Thievery Corporation - The Outernational Sound

Biil Laswell - ROIR Dub Sessions

Karl Denson's Tiny Universe - The Bridge

fehgeddaboudit Sep 20th, 2005 09:03 AM

Mmmmmmmm, Scarlett: Sketches of Spain is one of my faves. At the other end of the Miles Davis spectrum is a posthumous CD titled Doo Wop. Have you heard it?

DixieChick Sep 20th, 2005 09:29 AM

Coldplay.

bronxzilla,

Thelonious Monk Quartet featuring John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall in 1957. It is a newly "discovered" recording and is actually pretty awesome.

I have rediscovered "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen. There was a time (almost 30 years ago!) when that album was all I listened to.

All of the San Francisco Symphony's recordings of the Mahler Symphonies are also in the menu.
