I've been told a convertible jeep is better than a regular convertible in Hawaii b/c of parking, etc. (the other convertibles have long doors b/c they are 2 door) Opinions? Thanks!

Road to Hana:

I'll be staying in a cottage near Kula, would it still be advisable for me start my journey to Hana from Pia or could I cut across from KULA -- I'll hit the road to Hana right before the Twin waterfalls. Is the stuff prior to the falls anything worth driving the extra miles? Not to mention getting up earlier.

Thanks,
JJsoon

To help answer your questions on the Road to Hana, see my reply to "Beating the Caravans to Hana" thread.

But most of all, the best guide book to plan your Maui trip is "Maui Revealed" by Andrew Dougherty, et al. Although there are some disagreements I had with his activities section or recommendations, it was still the best planning source for our vacation (no disrespect to Fodor's).

Hope this helps. Enjoy your honeymoon!

We really loved Haleakela. We didn't do the sunrise thing, but opted to drive up during the afternoon one day. We took a short hike down into the crater which I thought was amazingly beautiful. It was so different from anything we see where we're from. There weren't many people there during the afternoon, so we were able to hold hands while we were walking, talk and just enjoy the scenery and each other.

Since we'll be so close to the H.Natl Park, would be advisable to do multiple activities or will that just be a waste of money?

Thanks,
JJsoon
