The name of the material is kapolene and ski underclothes made of that work the best.

Enjoy! and keep the ability to laugh. Remmeber that every "expert" out there giving you dirty looks was once a beginner too. If starting to go out of control just sit. The first thing I taught my kids to do was fall if they couldn't stop. And always get back up on your skis with the skis across the downhill line not facing uphill or downhill.

Abram, I use a scarf for warmth and not to accessorize. There isn't enough of mine left to get 'caught' in a ski lift.

When a humidifier isn't available we fill the condo or hotel bathtub with hot water for the night.

You're on the naughty list for ignoring Santa's post AND for contradicting.

Better luck next year, young lady!!

Geez Santa give me a break. I've been stuck in the house all week with a kid who has been throwing up & running a high fever. Every 5 minutes I hear a pitiful "mom" out of her mouth. I've had zero sleep, been to the stupid doctor's office with her twice and almost to the emergency room.. And to top it all off, I have had to wipe snot out of her nose....

You realize that I know this already, don't you? Not certain how this affects your ability to read. Carry on...

A very important advice is missing: don't lick any metal! Have you seen "dumb and dumber"?

Invest in wrist guards if you're boarding. They also have padded shorths for under your ski/board pants.

If you're not moving, move to the edge of the trail.

Gloves that have removable linings work best. Otherwise, getting the insides dried out on a multiple day trip is almost impossible.

Always bring a wad of tissues in your pocket because it's pretty much guaranteed that your nose will run.

Carry a small tube of sunscreen and SPF lib balm with you and use it liberally.

Power Bars make great snacks while on the lift.

And regardless of how cute you look showing your belly button in that spaghetti strapped tank top with your jacket unzipped......falling will absolutely suck. (saw this at Mammoth during spring skiing)

Most of all.....HAVE FUN!

I second abram's suggestion not to use a scarf, a neck gator is safer for getting off the lift safely.

"regardless of how cute you look showing your belly button in that spaghetti strapped tank top with your jacket unzipped......falling will absolutely suck."

I've never seen her fall but I saw Mariah Carey on Snowmass with her jacket unzipped and wearing lowcut sweaters in late Dec.(two years in a row)when the only thing I had exposed was my nose!

Once I was so busy staring at the gorgeous man she was with that I ran over her snowboard. oops....so sorry...
