Somehow, I'm envisioning that Tipski and Tom have both dated Stephanie.

x Jun 12th, 2002 09:02 AM

They ARE stephanie.

tom Jun 12th, 2002 09:13 AM

Tipper, you really aren't too bright are you? If you have a learning disability, I apologize but it really doesn't take a genius to understand what tipski was saying.

What do you give the dope standing in the men's room, watching you pee?

x Jun 12th, 2002 09:22 AM

His payment is getting to watch you. No tip required!

$5 minimum...and we are "Bellmen" not "Bellboys"

asdf Jun 23rd, 2002 03:52 AM

I thought it was bellhop... and a $5 minimum is exhorbitant for the averaje Joe. A buck a bag with a $2 or $3 minimum is more reasonable. Unless you won at the tables, then $5 or even $10 ...

If he's a hunk, ask him to stay awhile in your room. Then give him a tip.

There have to be at least 5 or 6 threads about tipping on this board alone. I received the July edition of Consumer Reports Travel Letter in the mail today and thought it was funny that there is an article entitiled "A Guide to Tipping". The article says $1 per bag, more if it is heavy. It also lists a tipping guide for doorman/chambermaid/concierge/valet/porter and room service. All that tipping can really add up.

Being the good Bellman I am...I always show the guest the nearest fire exit. Isn't that worth a $5 min. tip?

a Jul 2nd, 2002 12:05 AM

if he's good looking tip him

x Jul 2nd, 2002 04:52 AM

I have never had a bellman point out the nearest fire exit but it is a great idea.
