Three hours in Phoenix
Hi fodorites-
This is one of those "lack of planning on my part does not constitue an emergency on your part" posts, and I'd appreciate your advice! I fly into Phoenix tomorrow at 9am and have about a three hour block of time before I have to be anywhere, and a rental car. Where should I go? Are galleries open that early? I do enjoy art. I also could use a pair of cowboy boots, and wouldn't mind shopping. Finally, if the weather is nice, I wouldn't mind just taking a scenic drive. (Guess it's time to check the weather, eh?!) What do you think? Thanks- Laura |
Where do you have to be at noon? And do you have to be ready to do business at noon? (I am thinking of attire and how that could impact activities)

I have to be at Pointe South Mountain Resort, and I have to have lunch at the beginning of a conference. Dress is casual, but nicer than hiking clothes. "Resortwear"- I think!

You could go to the Heard Museum which is a wonderful Southwestern museum
and/or do a bit of shopping at the Arizona Mills outlet mall. There is also an art museum near the Heard museum, but it's not that interesting. |
Ok, I stayed there a few wks ago at Point South so I know where that is. This is what I would do: go to the Wild Horse Pass spa and resort (just a few miles further out 10E) and walk their lovely grounds, shop in their shops, and definitely go to their absolutely incredible Aji spa for a treatment. It is wonderful- Aji ranks way up there in my book. And you'd be close to Pointe South. You'll end up wishing you were staying at Wild Horse, but at least you'd get a bit of it.

Thank you! I have directions to the spa and printed the info on the Herd Museum in case I have time in the afternoon as well.
