Fabulous! Enjoy
Thanks, everyone!
sf - she has so much planned, I was exhausted just reading her itinerary, but I owe you one!!! LOL
I am going to NYC this weekend for 4 days for the Tribeca TOAST and the Tribeca film festival. Going w/my husband- I usually go to NYC alone, but this timehe is coming. I know how it is when you have a trip planned w/the spouse. I am so glad this weekend is working out for you two!
Have a blast! =D> Curious to hear about Tommy Tune. ;)
Hey sf - She didn't ditch me. I had a nice walk in my favorite park with her this afternoon!
Glad to hear it (do I get the same treatment when you're here?). What park (not Central?)
CPG, we should meet up sometime. I am in NYC about once a month for a weekend now that Bolt Bus is running from DC to NYC. I splurged and bought two nights at the Greenwich hotel on an auction site for this trip. Ooolala, it is nice. It is a lovely sunny day today in lower Manhattan!
Oh please report on Tommy Tune. I just love him. Saw him years ago in SeeSaw and he was absolutely adorable.
I saw him, too, in Half a Sixpence -- I must have been a teenager. He was absolutely great.
emd3 - I had to respond to your post about the Greenwich Hotel. It looks AMAZING! Will you please report on it?!
emd3 - today is absolutely beautiful, but beware tomorrow is going to be very different. Plan accordingly. Sure, the next time you come in email me at [email protected] Fridays are best for me.
sf307, are you sure you aren't thinking of Tommy Steele who starred in Half a Sixpence? I'm pretty sure Tommy Tune never did it, and I'm having a hard time imagining Tommy Tune's British accent!
Neo - good get.
Will do, Latana
You're right Patrick.
NP, I think you're right! That's how long ago it was LOL!
So, I had to refresh my recollection (it's a definite problem at age 59!). I saw Tommy Tune with Sandy Duncan in My One and Only. I ALSO saw Tommy Steele in Half a Sixpence :-)
Yes Neo you are right. And I'm going to really show my age when I say I also saw Tommy Steele in Half a Sixpence. I believe I still have the program somewhere and the album. And I still remember some of the songs - She's Too Far Above Me, The Party's on the House, okay I'll stop now.
Disclaimer: Tommy Tune is my favorite performer, and I have absolutely no objectivity when it comes to his performances. That being said, of course I loved his show. He sings, he dances, he tells stories. His gift to the audience is that he seems to love doing it. The others in my group loved it as well.
I saw him in My One and Only in NY and in Chicago, saw him at Melody Top here in Milwaukee, with the Manhattan Rhythm Kings in Milwaukee and Chicago--and went to Dr. Doolittle (even though I knew it wasn't a very good show) because he was in it. We had a great weekend in NYC--theater, museums, friends, and family. Thanks, cpg, for the walk through Central Park and the iced tea--that was a lovely interlude, and I really enjoyed meeting you. |
