OWJ,
CONGRATS to you! What beautiful babies. Our little girl is 8 mos old and the joy of our lives! Wishes of happiness to you all.

On a travel note, we just had our first vacation and she was great so you won't be sidelined for long! And I've lived in the midwest my entire life and I have no idea was a loose meat sandwich is!

As for the diaper bag, I SWEAR by my Petunia Picklebottom. Great prints, sturdy, can be a backpack or shoulder bag and the best part it that it has a zip front that folds out into a changing pad-no fumbling for the undetached one. A bit expensive but definately worth it.

Our dearest OWJ's ~ I just saw this thread! You must be discharged and your way home by now.

What a true blessing, we are all so thrilled for you. Enjoy precious Lainey and Rachel, what lucky little babies they are to have your for parents!

Happy New Year and Mazel Tov!! BTW~The Petunia Picklebottom diaper bags are great. All the new mom nurses I work with are hooked on them.

I've never heard of loose meat, either.
Didn't have that in the area that swalter and I come from. Sounds like crock pot meat. LOL!

Thank you for sharing pictures! The girls are so cute! Am I alone in seeing resemblance with adoptive parents? OWJ, they do look like you! And your husband.

I am chiming in late (and I somehow missed earlier threads about your family expansion plans!)

Congratulations!!!!

Mrs BD and I wish you and Howie the best! Bring the girls down to Myrtle Beach with lots of pictures of Italy. See, no rush.

Thanks, Chuck!!

PS And tomorrow AM we really, really are leaving Iowa. We have a 6am flight back to Atlanta...it's early but doesn't matter because we're going HOME!

And to make this travel related, there is a really yummy home-cooking type restaurant in Davenport that we found out about yesterday--it's called The Machine Shed and was yummy...if we ever came back here again, we'd definitely go back. Good service and inexpensive too!!

OWJ, Safe travels to you All!!! :D

OneWanderingJew Oct 18th, 2006 05:14 PM

Oh, forgot to say girls are growing like weeds. We took Lainey and Rachel to a ped. yesterday and they are doing spectacularly. Lainey was 4lb, 7 oz. and Rachel is 6 lb., 9oz.

Happy flying, and be sure to check in with us as soon as you arrive so we'll know you are safe.

Now I sound like a mom. :-D

crazymina Oct 18th, 2006 05:27 PM

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is what happens when we lose touch...I was wondering what happened to you and did a bit of a search to see if you were posting, only to find out you are proud parents! I am SO thrilled...my best congrats to you and Howie. I can't believe it...it just seems like yesterday when you shared such sad news with me. I am grinning ear to ear and I saw the kodak album...what adorable little girls!

I am so happy for you...have I said that yet?

I can't believe it's been 5 years since we've "met"...we were both single back then and you found the love of your life and now are a mother. I have a thread going on in the Europe forum, so I hope you'll excuse the slight hijack by me telling you I am a wife. Yes, I married the Australian! A photo link is on the thread over on the Europe board.

Congrats again OWJ...you deserve only the best!!!

gomiki Oct 18th, 2006 05:27 PM

You must be so excited :) Safe travels. Soon you will be HOME..there's no place like home..there's no place like home...

OneWanderingJew Oct 18th, 2006 05:43 PM

Oh Mina, Mina, Mina...I am soooo happy for you!! Wow!! Both of our lives have changed, haven't they?

I am so happy for you and S!!!!!!

write me--must get all the details, Married One...onewanderingjew at hotmail.com still works!

crazymina Oct 18th, 2006 06:02 PM

OWJ, I'll let ya get settle in first...I am going to write the "last chapter" of my saga and send it to you. It will give you an idea of what happened on the wedding day and the months leading up to it.

I have to say it again, I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

LoveItaly Oct 18th, 2006 07:23 PM

I am so happy that the four OWJ's are going to be home tomorrow I was asked at the checkout stand at the supermarket late afternoon if I had won the lottery, lol. Winning the lottery would not give me the joy that knowing our beautiful OWJ's will be home has given me. Beautiful years are ahead for them..and our prayers have been answered!!

Tiff Oct 19th, 2006 05:49 AM

What a beautiful weekend this will be!
You and your babies are home!

iceeu2 Oct 19th, 2006 05:51 AM

OO, I agree that Miss Piggy and Peanut are our collective nieces. Aren't we just the luckiest aunties ever.

However, I do also have that feeling that LoveItaly is a grandmother twice again!! Born on your birthday. How special is that? I think it is wonderful.

Can't wait to meet these little girls! When is the shower and....is there a registration at BabiesRUs or some place?

Welcome Home to the entire OWJ family!!

i'2((r))

LoveItaly Oct 19th, 2006 08:22 AM

Hi there iceeu2, yes those little angels being born on my birthday is so special, more then words can express! I woke up real early this morning (30 minutes before the plane was to leave Iowa) and couldn't go back to sleep I was so excited and happy that the 4 OWJ's were on their way home! I just wish we lived in the same city but OWJ is so great sharing the photos of their darling daughters.

kswl Oct 19th, 2006 07:23 PM

Welcome Home, all OWJs! Your public awaits--you've got to let us know when we can see Rachael and Lainey.

I am so out of the baby game at my age that I hadn't even heard of the brand names of some of these diaper bags (notice I didn't call them "newfangled"!) I was actually going to suggest Pierre Deux--that was all anyone used in New York back in the Age of Dark. :D
