The ark's packed where should we go?

Crazy raining in northern California and not expected to let up much so which direction shall I steer the ark?

utahtea Mar 22nd, 2005 08:38 AM

I hear the wild ((f)) flowers ((f)) in Death Valley and S. California are really BLOOMING this year!

http://www.desertusa.com/wildflo/ca.html

You could always go to the mountains where the rain turns to snow! :-d

I was checking the 10 day forcast. Seems like the chance of showers is less likely in S. California deserts and Arizona.

Hi Suzie, I weather here is getting tiresome, isn't it?

Do not go to Tahoe unless you have chains, just read this morning they will be required.

I too read the flowers in Death Valley are fantastic right now.

Suzie Mar 22nd, 2005 10:54 AM

For me Tahoe is a summer/fall destination. Snow is not appealing to me. ;)

j_elzie Mar 22nd, 2005 11:00 AM

Hi,

I, too, saw a piece on CBS' Sunday morning on those flowers in Death Valley! They are very beautiful.

It seems that Portland and Seattle have traded weather with California this year. We've had a very warm, dry winter. Lots of great family things to do in both cities. The Oregon Coast beaches might be an idea? What about Sun Valley, Idaho?

Best Regards
Julia

Hi razzledazzle, I really should have ordered that ark from you last night. Geez, the rain was terrible. And it is again today (with wind) and I have to go out again tonight as you do.

Suzie, I think all of us in N.CA. are ready to leave the area.

Regarding Portland, I know my family up there has complained about the lack of rain (too funny as you know how Porland is usually rainy for months).
So that is one thought as i_elzie suggested.

Or perhaps San Diego? Haven't kept up on the weather reports there however.

Whereever you decide I hope you find blue sky and sunshine! Have fun.

Syv Mar 22nd, 2005 01:11 PM

Mild & clear blue skies here in Ontario Canada! (of course, "mild" means +33-35 degrees F.

LoveItaly Mar 22nd, 2005 01:13 PM

Oh Syv, that sounds fabulous to me right now!!! And stop your bragging, you are just going to make us feel worse, LOL.

paula1470 Mar 22nd, 2005 05:25 PM

Raining in San Diego, too. We are close to a record amount of rain this year. You guys had the rain earlier, now it's starting here. Well my ark is heading for NYC on Thursday. Of course, it will be colder and guess what - chance of rain! Can't escape it (unless I go to Seattle).

Scarlett Mar 22nd, 2005 06:38 PM

Raining in Jax Florida too :(
And my poor son will be in NYC Wed in time for snow/rain/slush..ick ick.
Does the ark have First Class cabins or are they all steerage? :D

LoveItaly Mar 22nd, 2005 07:01 PM

Ah, now I know where that rain went. It stopped a couple of hours ago. So guess that N.CA sent it to San Diego and to JAX. I am sorry :-[, but we did need a break.

Scarlett, RazzleDazzle offered an ark here in VV but I stupidly didn't RSVP so no idea if first class is available or not.

utahtea Mar 22nd, 2005 07:07 PM

So Suzie.....where have you decided to take the ark?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Utahtea

Suzie Mar 22nd, 2005 09:31 PM

Just looking for places where it isn't raining. No decisions made yet. Jealous that other people already have plans to get out of dodge for spring break!!! I'll probabaly end up in east bay or the foothills anyway. Pray for sun!

utahtea Mar 22nd, 2005 09:54 PM

According to the weather forcast....Friday is our best bet for a little drying out.

This is Fodors - First Class for everyone! :-)

OneWanderingJew Mar 22nd, 2005 11:26 PM

To All: I checked out the ark and yes, it has first class cabins. The problem is, right now we are downwind from the elephants.

Would anyone like to rent it from me? I can have it shipped from Atlanta to whereever you are.

PamSF Mar 23rd, 2005 09:38 AM

I just talked to my sister in Seattle. She says the weather is beautiful!
