From the photos of that Hilton that I just posted, It looks like you can see a game from your hotel window! :)

We understand your life-long commitment to the Cards! My husband is a die-hard Cardinal fan, even though he moved away from his hometown (St. Louis) in the 60s. Once a Cardinal fan, always a Cardinal fan-- win or lose. Right?

The new stadium is fantastic. You will have a great time.

The Laclede's Landing area is full of bars and restaurants, and some cheesy knick knack shops. It's walking distance from the stadium, if you're up for a relatively long walk.

Will you have a car?

P.S. I once saw Ozzie in the airport. What an amazing athlete.

Thank you all for the info. Yes we will have a car. For those of you that asked for more info. about what we are looking for : Just some great barbeque places as we have never had "real" barbeque here in the northwest, and also any restaurants where we might be able to see present or past Cardinal players (so maybe if they owned the place?) is what I am thinking. Main thing we are going for is the Cardinals and great food and maybe one or two things that are must do's in St. Louis?

Last night was Lou Brock's birthday - He was at the game and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him. He looked great at 70! Very gracious to the crowd!

Try Pappies for the BBQ!

Not sure about player sightings at restaurants - it seems hit or miss!
Liz mentioned 15teen - a restaurnat owned by Jim Edmonds - it is flashy night club type place - fyi..and also Mike Shannons- good suggestions.

The brewery tour is a lot of fun and it is downtown.

I think the Hilton offers the best view of the ballpark, although this tends to be from the higher up (more expensive) rooms. The Millenium is only a block from the stadium and idealy situated for touring.

Try either http://www.roomsinstlouis.com or http://www.explorestlouis.com/ for more information.

Pappy's Smokehouse for BBQ, Go up in the arch, Stay at the Hilton Ballpark, wear "Cardinals" attire and don't be shy about saying that you came to STL just because you're fans -- people in STL are wild about the Cards, and love it when others are. If you like beer, tour the brewery. If you like horses, tour Grant's Farm. Hang out in Soulard - go to McGurk's if you're Irish (or think about being Irish). Take the carriage ride downtown. go to www.urbanspoon.com and select St. Louis for more food ideas. And just enjoy yourself! Oh, after the game most St. Louisans go to a bar near the park called "Paddy O's" at 618 S 7th St. You can walk there from the stadium. It's generally a younger (20s) crowd...but it's so much fun!
