St. George to North Rim?
Has anyone done it as a day trip? Anywhere interesting to stop along the way? This would be first week of Oct.
Thanks! |
The drive to the North Rim is a slow one. If you get stuck behind a motorhome..it could even be slower! You are looking at anywhere from 7 - 9 hours of driving (round trip) if you are going to do this as a day trip from St. George. In October you are only going to have about 12 hours of daylight, so unless you like driving after dark, you will only have a couple of hours at the North Rim.
I don't know what other areas you will be visiting, but Zion National Park is just 45 miles away and would be a much better day trip. Also just north of St. George is Snow Canyon State Park. Utahtea |
Thanks! We planned to go to Zion and think we'll check out Snow Canyon too.
Is there good mt. biking in St . George area? |
Is there a particular reason for staying in St. George? It is about 40 miles from there to the entrance to Zion National Park at Springdale and there are other places to stay that are closer and reasonably priced.

We have a condo rented in st. George. Then move on to Bryce - 1 night & Capital Reef area - 1 or 2 nights?
Enough to see from here for 2 nights/ Thanks! |
Ever notice how a poster asks a question and gets an answer they don't like, they keep asking the same question? I guess hoping someone will tell them what they want to hear?

Sorry, Dayle, was not aware only your answers were the "right" answers. I thought the purpose of this board was to exchange experiences , info ,etc.- I'm not really interested in squabbling.
