It DOES depend on what you like, so I'd look anywhere I was and not be deterred by another's experience.

I love nice/high quality Antique Malls/co-ops and shops. I don't like flea markets.
Appreciate any tips so my darling husband doesn't have to wait too long while I shop! ;) |
Tell me what/where your favorite antique shop/coop is -- wherever you may be. And what you collect/buy. That will help me give you more options.
In the meantime: King Street shops are reflective of Charleston taste: Chinese export, sterling, formal furniture, oil paintings, period hearth ware, exquisite smalls, etc. They're pricey and beautiful and some ask you to ring the bell to enter. Worth a stop if you like to look. And they're in a compact small area so you can park DH with a drink and a nibble while you browse. |
I really like The Fat Hen. Semi-casual bistro style not far from the Angel Oak. Check their hours before you go. They take reservations, but always leave some tables for walk-ins.
