So I walked into a Restaurant...

In San Francisco last night and spotted.....Joan Baez! Yeah!!! She looks gorgeous, as always. But I see her around fairly often. The bigger treat was spotting....Yeah!! Yeah!!! StuDudley and Mrs. StuDudley.!!! Hurrah!!

Thanks to the photos from the GTG that were posted recently, I recognized them right away.

LoveItaly Mar 16th, 2008 11:56 AM

Oh cabo, how fun! Aren't the Dudley's a delightful and interesting couple. I so enjoyed visiting with them at our GTG.

Scarlett Mar 16th, 2008 11:58 AM

So...did you get an autograph?

from the Dudleys? :D

cabovacation Mar 16th, 2008 12:21 PM

Scarlett - I am very slow....I mostly stood and gaped with awe!

John Mar 16th, 2008 01:03 PM

So who is Joan Baez and the Dudley"s?
Is that Dudley of Dudley Do Little?

lscott Mar 16th, 2008 04:20 PM

WHO IS JOAN BAEZ!? How old are you, Sonny? (I don't know who the Stu Dudleys are.)

Scarlett Mar 16th, 2008 05:22 PM

lol who is Joan Baez, who are the Studleys .. sorry, StuDudleys..
cabo, I understand..I know how you must have felt, I would have too. Although I am not sure what they look like but will go check now.

This should be a warning to anyone who does not want to be recognised by fans :D Don't let them take your photo at a
GTG...

Was this a restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf?

cabovacation Mar 17th, 2008 07:08 AM

Not in Fisherman's Wharf. At the opposite end of the city - almost in Daly City. On Church ST.

bear900 Mar 17th, 2008 07:49 AM

“Where have all the Dudley’s gone? Long time passing…” Joan Baez

Michael Mar 17th, 2008 07:55 AM

almost in Daly City. On Church ST.

Only a non-resident would say that.

dovima Mar 17th, 2008 08:06 AM

Well Church Street does go out to 30th, which is getting to the Outer Mission. But it's not Daly City. And how do we know that? Because the sun was probably shining, which it rarely does in Daly City.

Went to the Legion of Honor yeterday (wonderful Annie Leibovitz exhibit) and ate a terrific Polish restaurant afterward, Old Krakow. Didn't see any celebs or Fodorites, but my goulash was fabulous!

FainaAgain Mar 17th, 2008 10:30 AM

Studley is a real estate firm in San Francisco

FainaAgain Mar 17th, 2008 10:34 AM

I went to the Cinema theater for Opera! Peter Grimes, it was simultaneosly showing in movie theaters in the US and other countries, Britain and don't know where else.

It was great! For only $20 I had the best seat ;) and a backstage tour of the Met in NY!!!!

Next weekend it's Tristan and Isolde, and I'm going.

After that, 2 more, and the season is over.

mclaurie Mar 17th, 2008 11:31 AM

Were the Dudley's dining with J. Baez? @-)

Michael Mar 17th, 2008 11:47 AM

Live SF opera performances can be seen from the side sections of the nose-bleed area (said to have the best acoustics) for $15 on week days.

cabovacation Mar 17th, 2008 12:30 PM

I'm sure we can all say we were dining with JB that night. ;)

GeorgeW Mar 17th, 2008 01:17 PM

You should have told her that Robert E. Lee was never in Tennessee during the Civil War, making her song "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" to be historically incorrect.
