My sister was driving back to Madison (WI) from Indianapolis yesterday during that snowstorm. She called me when she was around Bloomington-Normal and was relieved to see the sun shining, even though the temps were bitter cold. |
Not sure about fatalities - I think there was one.
Why do these guys who leave Boston feel the need to unload like that? Why can't they just take the money and shut up. Pedro was great while he was here but why the rancor? Go Pats! I'll be wrapping gifts, drinking some wine and watching the Pats. |
No snow in Eden, North Carolina but it was 10* this morning. In my 29 years I can't remember having a white Christmas. However, the word is that it just might be a possibility this year! Stay warm.

How you live in cold climates? At 8 a.m. today it was 12F at RDU airport. Brrrrrr cold. The howling wind blew my recycling container around last night, so I had to clean up the yard this morning. Brrrrrr and arrrrrrgh.
((8)) I'm dreaming of a Caribbean Christmas. With sunshine and humidity. ((8)) ((G)) and ((K)) to O:) |
We had our cold in southern CA two weeks ago (lows in the 30s). Last week we had a mild Santa Ana blow in and we were baking. This weekend I did my Xmas shopping with the top down on my convertible (80 in Long Beach). Wednesday, I'll be landing in Phillie for five days of Xmas cheer-- and it looks like it will be warming up above freezing! No White Christmas for me :( ....

Lucky you! I long for a white Christmas but haven't had one in 6 years. We were in Germany for Christmas of 2002 and had hopes, but got rain instead. Now we're in the southern UK and a white Christmas is highly unlikely, this year or any other. Cold and wet, yes. Snow, no. Enjoy!

to girlonthego!!
I am in Central Va also--watch out for the BLACK ICE today and tonite.. All the "Warm" 17 degree weather will refreeze tonite and make the roads super dangerous.. I stayed in today and let hubs go to work.. |
andy: I am sure there will be a delayed opening again tomorrow! It doesn't look white for Christmas here either. It is pretty today though!

yikes, 12 degrees this a.m., with the breeze, 4 below! A dusting of snow, but not enough to make the place snowy. Warming later in the week, then cold all over again. Going someplace for NYE, but my partner refises to say warm or cold. Have a great holiday season all and a wonderful 2005. Ciao, of course.

It has been cold in Miami.... low 60's today...48 last night.
Already had it, like the heat and little humidity... |
Cold today here too! Supposed to warm back up tomorrow and almost 70 on Wednesday.
I'm cold. I want hot and humid. Spent the weekend back in Asheville and the dry air is killing my sinuses. Never had this problem when I smoked. |
Everything is frigid, but not inches deep- just a touch of crystal cold white snow and extremely beautiful. But hard to drive, as wind gusts were up to 60mph this morning.
Big, fat flakes were falling on Saturday night as Grandsons looked out my front windows for about an hour. We have the reindeers on automation now and they are just mesmerized (age 1 and age 3). And we have the pear trees and ash trees all in lights too. Glad I didn't go to my Michigan place on Friday. We have postponed until after Christmas. Portage, IN and a few places on the way got 14 inches of lake effect. I think there is about 3 or 4 inches at my place there, and I hear the lake is ice skimmed to near center and frozen down to a couple of inches already near the shores. We may be able to clear the snow off my lake front and skate during the week after Christmas. Timing is going to be almost perfect. Getting to wear my great Italian boots and long leather coat, and I LOVE MY WEATHER and my fireplace apple wood fires. We made inside s'mores on Sunday. It is going to be a beautiful Christmas. Late news said southern FL may go into freeze with next front out of Canada. Hope it doesn't go so far, as I know crops suffer and people are not used to heating homes etc. |
There's 10 inches on the ground in San Diego County.......think I'll take the one hour drive to Mt. Laguna and visit the "white stuff". I'm sure I'll enjoy it......as long as I don't have to shovel it.

sceneisle, the SF news showed the snow east of SanDiego with all the kids playing in it, and even adults making snow angels. Have fun!
