Shoes in NYC
I'll be in NYC next month and am looking
for a great place to buy shoes- A store
with a wide variety of brands and types
of shoes, not outrageously expensive.
I'd love any suggestions. Thanks.

Bloomies and Macys are good places to start, and fun.

I used to visit a discount store midtown called "Daisey's" (I think --confirmation anyone?) They carried everything from designer to junk, and if you hit it on a good day, you'd be thrilled.
I think you are thinking of "Daffy's". :-)

yeah I know it's not the NYC shopping experience but I highly suggest renting a car (or going witha tour service that goes there) and going to Woodbury commons 45 minutes outside of NYC. Tons of premium outlets (donna karan, calvin klein, gucci...etc). Get the NYC look without the price. : ) Plus they have a Kenneth Cole outlet!

8th street. Also Broadway around 8th street. Tons of shoe stores. If you want to go more upscale, check out Barneys uptown and Sigerson Morrison in Nolita.
|
Thanks G -- Daffy's it was! Although I've been known to lust after some $700 pumps in the designer shops.

Check out New York magazine January 3, 2000, Page 70, Sales & Bargains column noting "And a Deal to Boot; Positively 8th Street".
