SF Restaurant

Just had an excellent meal at http://www.sahasf.com/ $180 for three including beer, wine, and six courses shared.

Thanks for posting it, Michael.

One of my favorite places to eat - eclectic menu, good for carnivore s or veggies, and good value. Close to union sq and downtown.

I live here and I've never heard of it! Putting it on my list.

BTW, we ate at Tadich's Friday night. I've never been a big fan and my opinion was confirmed. I wouldn't give my dinner even 2* - soggy fish and broccoli that looked like it was cooked last year. My DH's cioppino was better, but far from the best I've had in the city. Nice ambiance and service though.

The black cod at Saha is excellent.

Looking forward to trying it!

sf7307 - you make me feel better. I never thought Tadich was that great, but others have always raved about it.

This may our first disagreement, sf! We always eat there each trip - sand dabs for me and cioppino for DH. We really like both and the restaurants' quirky charm.

DebitNM, I knew that about you (doesn't make me like you any less!). Next time you're here in crab season we'll take you to our favorite cioppino spot.

deal...I can always trust you to take us to a good spot!

Thanks Michael.

Since Fattoush is temporarily closed for smoke-damage repairs - we've been looking for its middle-eastern replacement on our dining circuit. Saha seems like a good place to try. Did you park on Van Ness or take public transportation (we have a VW Bug for our City transportation & parking)?

We dined at La Ciccia Sat night. My wife's two cold appetizers (calamari & white anchovies) were great. My appetizer (pasta w/tuna heart) & main (lamb tenderloin) were not. Like our past visits - we have a 50% "hit" rate.

I've always had great clam chowder & rex sole at Tadich. Tarter sauce not as good as Sams. Don't recall who has the best creamed spinach.

We were lucky. There was parking right across the street.

We've eaten there several times when we go to the theatre and I like the food too, though I have thought it has rather a hotel restaurant feel.
