Thanks, Postal. I recently signed up for the Hilton HHonors club. Is that what you're referring to or is that separate from "Starwood's" club?
|
Starwood is actually the Sheraton, Westin, W hotels, etc. You joined the Hilton's membership which is the one you want.
|
Thanks for correcting me. I belong to so many of these clubs that I've lost track! (But it always pays off!)

FYI...Priceline just rejected my bid of $95 for a 3* in Sedona. So let's see...Outside of Priceline, I have a suite for $134/night. Using priceline, I can do no better than $40 less than the $134 price, without being assured of getting a suite (could possibly receive a single room). At these Priceline pricing levels, I'm not sure it's worth the trade-off.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that it is not worth going through Priceline if you cannot do better than $95 per night. I am just suprised that they don't have access to that inventory. (Which apparently they don't if your bid was rejected at $95.) Hope that ya'll have a great time there. We sure did!

Thanks again, highbay.
Say...Have you ever heard of QuickBook.com? If so, how do they compare to Priceline? |
Hi,
One issue with the Hilton is the location. It is 7 miles to the center of town, but that can mean 25-40 minutes in bad traffic depending on time of year, and most all restaurants etc are closer to center of town. Your price in Sedona will vary GREATLY depending on when you plan to go. Kokopelli is OK, good location nothing fancy. |
I've heard of Quickbook, but have never tried their services, so I cannot compare them to Priceline. I guess we have just been extremely lucky when bidding on Priceline. We are going to NYC for the 1st time July 24th and we bid Midtown East and got the Grand Hyatt (4*)for $75 a night. This is how we have been able to travel as much as we do. If we had to pay rack room rates (or close to it) we would have to limit the amount of travel time by 1/2. Thank goodness for the alternatives!
